Job Description SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY EDUCATION DIVISION The Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED), an academic arm of the School of Continuing Education, is the premier provider of early childhood and primary school teacher education in Hong Kong. It currently offers a range of academic programmes on a full-time or part-time basis for students pursuing courses with qualifications awarded from certificate to postgraduate levels. Applications are now invited for the following positions: Lecturer I / Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer (25260753) The appointees are expected to perform the following duties: a) teach in their fields of studies; b) programme and curriculum development; c) co-ordinate and manage part-time teaching staff to work as a team; d) execute quality assurance requirements; e) supervise students on research projects and fieldwork practice; and f) provide guidance and counselling services to students. Applicants should possess at least a master’s degree (preferably a doctorate degree) in the related discipline as follows and demonstrate an excellent teaching record:  Child Development and Psychology Counselling and Guidance in Early Childhood Education Creative Arts in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Education Curriculum  Educational Administration and Management in ECE Settings Language and Literacy Learning in Early Childhood  Parent Education Special Education in Early Childhood Education Those who possess a postgraduate certificate/diploma in Education and work experience in higher education/early childhood education will be highly desirable. Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work outside normal working hours are also essential.  The appointee will mainly work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Your personal sphere of influence: As a university assistant prae doc you will join the new team of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Claudia Wutscher, BA and take on tasks such as active participation in teaching as well as in research and publication projects. The team will focus on Austrian and European public law. The employment duration is 4 years. Your future tasks: Dissertation writing: you conduct research on your topic, spend one third of your working time on your dissertation or other independent research activities with the aim of deepening your own professional and scientific knowledge. You collaborate in research, teaching and administrative tasks at the Institute. You participate in audits and evaluation activities. You are involved in student support. You are entrusted with the independent execution of courses and holding of examinations. This is part of your personality: Degree: you have completed your diploma/master's degree in law, which entitles you to study for a doctorate, or an equivalent qualification with a focus on Austrian and European public law. Knowledge and areas of interest: You have demonstrable knowledge and focus of interest in Austrian or European public law, ideally through experience in institute operations and/or teaching experience. In addition, you already have experience or at least willingness in using multimedia teaching and learning formats. You bring specific interests in the research areas focused on in the department (public economic law, law of the eocnomic and monetary union, digital (markets) law, banking and financial markets law, budgetary law, sustainability law, fundamental rights, interplay between EU law and national law). You already have specific ideas for topics, or can envisage writing your dissertation in one of these areas. You have an excellent command of German (at least C1 level) as well as knowledge of foreign languages (English at least C1 level; knowledge of other languages would be an advantage) and, ideally, have already gained experience abroad. You have qualified computer skills in connection with the preparation of legal texts and ready-to-publish manuscripts.
