Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi

Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi was founded in 1985, with only seven students. It was the first university in Northern Cyprus, sitting in the Turkish Cypriot village of Karmi, on a mountain slope with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. 
It has since grown considerably, and today has around 20,000 students. The original founders’ vision was to establish GAU as an institute of higher learning for the professions. This is apparent in its 13 faculties and eight schools, which include pharmacy, education, tourism, medicine, nursing, aviation and performing arts. 
Since 1995, GAU has focused on developing education partnerships internationally. It now has links with institutions in countries including India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the US, the UK and Hong Kong. These allow students to participate in exchange programmes overseas.
There are four university dormitories: Elysium Court girls’ residence, Knowledge Village Students Complex, Univer-city and Gordon Bennet. Elysium Court is on campus; Knowledge Village is 3km from campus, but provides free shuttle services to the university. Rooms are usually shared between two students, and some offer picture windows, with panoramic views across Karmi to the sea. 
A range of cafés on campus provide a Turkish, Cypriot and international food. The university also provides a medical centre and onsite psychological counselling for those students who need it. 
It offers 20 sports clubs, including horseriding, archery, ballet, scuba diving and fencing. Several clubs – for example, law club, marine club and aviation club – relate to academic subjects. And arts and social societies include photography club, cinema club, theatre club, rock club and football fans club.

About the opportunity

The Pipeline and Pre-Award team within the Office of DVC Research is looking for a Senior Research Development Officer to play a key role in supporting research funding performance at the University.

In this role, you will provide strategic advice to researchers to develop high quality, successful research grant applications, and deliver local research development activities in partnership with Faculties and Schools.

About the Role

As part of the Rural and Remote Health Discipline, the Senior Lecturer, Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP) will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering excellence in teaching and learning across the Doctor of Medicine program within the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University. The position is instrumental in advancing high-quality medical education that prepares future doctors for practice in rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health contexts. Working collaboratively across key partnerships between the Northern Territory Government, Australian Government and Charles Darwin University, the role contributes to the development of a fit-for-context Northern Territory health and medical workforce.

Key responsibilities include:


	Providing academic leadership in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of medical education across the Doctor of Medicine program, ensuring an exceptional student learning experience.
	Leading innovative teaching initiatives, including clinical skills training, simulation-based learning and work-integrated learning opportunities that prepare students for the unique challenges of rural and remote healthcare.
	Building and maintaining strong partnerships with health services, government agencies, community stakeholders and educational institutions to support workforce development across the Northern Territory.
	Driving curriculum development and educational best practice, with a focus on rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, while contributing to professional accreditation, quality assurance and strategic priorities.

	Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), supported by extensive contemporary clinical experience in acute and/or primary healthcare settings.

At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. The Position

The position has both research and teaching roles. The candidate will undertake research under the guidance of the ARC Future Fellow for the project ‘Rebuilding Ukraine: From its War-Torn Past to its War-Torn Present’ resulting in sole and co-authored peer-reviewed academic publications. They will organise expert meetings, research symposia and an international conference, as well as curate the project’s website as a key means of communicating with relevant audiences and stakeholders. The candidate will also act as an associate supervisor for PhD and honours students and co-organise public-facing events and activities to disseminate the project’s findings.

The candidate will convene and teach an undergraduate course on the history of the Soviet Union and contribute lectures and tutorials to an undergraduate course on the history of the Cold War. They will undertake other teaching activities as directed by the Head of School and contribute to curriculum development, delivering lectures and tutorials and undertaking marking to a high standard.

The candidate will contribute to the governance of the School of History through assigned service roles.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD in History in a relevant field and have demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality historical research for publication in leading academic journals and with leading publishers. You will have experience delivering undergraduate history teaching to a high standard, along with professional academic proficiency in English and excellent reading and good speaking proficiency in Russian and Ukrainian.

You will have demonstrated experience working with archival and oral history materials, together with a strong cooperative approach and a willingness to engage in collaborative research. The ability to work effectively under guidance and contribute positively to a collaborative research environment will also be important.

The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney, established in 1946, offered the first university-level chemical engineering program in Australia. We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake computational research in electrocatalysis to contribute to the externally funded GETCO2 projects and collaborate with experimental researchers.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	perform first-principles/DFT studies of electrocatalytic reactions, catalyst surfaces and interfaces, reaction mechanisms, activity and selectivity
	develop reproducible atomistic simulation and high-throughput workflows using Python, ASE and relevant DFT software
	analyse electrochemical free-energy landscapes and connect elementary-step energetics to catalytic performance
	apply machine-learning interatomic potentials and microkinetic models where appropriate
	collaborate with experimental researchers, publish and present research outcomes, and contribute to student mentoring and group activities.


About you
