Galala University was established in 2020 as part of Egypt’s national initiative to develop universities in partnership with leading international institutions.
It is built on the picturesque Galala Plateau overlooking the Red Sea in the Suez Governorate.
Its campus is equipped with advanced labs, research centres, and smart classrooms, as well as spaces for cultural and extra-curricular activities.
The university is comprised of 13 faculties: social and human science, administrative science, mass media and communication, arts, engineering, computer science, architecture, food and food industries, medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Each faculty is divided into different departments offering a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
The curriculum blends theoretical study with practical application, and many programmes are delivered in collaboration with international partners such as Arizona State University.
The university is also home to a number of specialist research centres focusing on renewable energy, marine sciences, and desert agriculture.

Job Description We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow for a one-year full-time position with the possibility of extension. The selected candidate will be involved in the research of A. Vetešníková Šimková's working team. The work will involve independent bioinformatic processing of RNAseq data (transcriptome of fish immune organs), selection and validation of genes of interest at the level of molecular laboratory analyses, data evaluation and scientific interpretation of outputs in the form of preparation of scientific manuscripts for international journals, or further involvement in the form of bioinformatic analyses in ongoing project studies realized by A. Vetešníková Šimková's team. Key Duties: Bioinformatic data processing; statistical analyses of data sets; molecular-genetic analyses of fish tissues; independent professional interpretation of the obtained outputs; preparation of scientific publications. Description The Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to develop calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Ali Trabolsi, Professor of Chemistry and co-PI at the Water Research Center. The successful candidate will develop new calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification applications. To explore this area of macrocycle-based porous frameworks for water contaminant removal, the candidate will be involved in the directed synthesis of organic macrocycle containing linkers and porous frameworks and then investigate the supramolecular interactions with various organic pollutants. This would require knowledge in the design and synthesis of porous frameworks, particularly in techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron microscopy, and porosity analysis. The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of the analytical techniques used to characterize the materials. Experience in the application of such materials to water treatment is preferred. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry or materials science. Excellent experimental and synthetic skills relevant to the project (particularly, synthesis of covalent organic frameworks) are required.
