We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with strong expertise in computational and systems biology to lead the integrative modelling components of our NHMRC-funded project. This role is central to redefining the STAT3 signalling dogma by mapping its time-, stimulus-, and cell lineage-resolved interactome using cutting-edge technologies, including unbiased proteomic mapping (APEX2), iPSC-derived lineages, and functional genomics (CROP-Seq). The successful candidate will be responsible for the integrative analysis of large-scale multi-omics datasets and the development of predictive computational models to identify complex regulatory mechanisms of STAT3 signalling networks and pathway rewiring in varying biological contexts. Work that matters The Integrative Network Modelling Group within the Computational Systems Oncology program at SAiGENCI sits at the intersection of mathematics, computation, and cancer biology. We develop mechanistic, predictive models of cellular decision-making to address both fundamental and translational challenges in oncology, including drug resistance, pathway rewiring, and the discovery of new therapeutic vulnerabilities. Beyond cancer specifically, our research explores broader questions regarding cell fate decisions, the hidden dynamics of complex signalling networks, and their underlying regulatory mechanisms. Our approach is deliberately cancer-agnostic, focusing on principles that generalize across various tumour types while exploring the governing and design principles that dictate complex signalling behaviour. A defining feature of our group is the tight integration of dynamic network modelling with experimental and clinical insight, enabling us to move beyond mere description and toward robust, actionable prediction. Experience To thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: Strong background in applied mathematics, systems biology, computational biology, or a related quantitative discipline, with an interest in solving real-world biological and biomedical challenges. Expertise in computational modelling approaches, including network-based, mechanistic, and/or AI/ML frameworks for analysing complex biological systems. Experience identifying key signalling network mechanisms, predictive biomarkers, and biological design principles from large-scale datasets. Proven ability to develop and implement robust computational pipelines for integrative analysis of omics and mass spectrometry data, particularly interactomics and post-translational modification mapping. We are seeking to recruit 2 Research Fellows in Marine Biogeochemistry to undertake research into the processes controlling biological productivity and trace element supply in the Southern Ocean. Based within the School of Ocean and Earth Science (SOES) of the University of Southampton and located at the National Oceanography Southampton (NOCS), the role will focus on the analysis of samples and observational and experimental data from the Southern Ocean within the NERC funded ‘Iron and Manganese Impacts on the Future of Southern Ocean Ecosystems (Iron-Man)’ project.  Applicants should have a PhD* or equivalent in biological oceanography / marine biogeochemistry (or a related field). You would be expected to undertake sample and data analyses originating from the recent research expedition associated with the project and disseminate key aspects of the research project related to phytoplankton ecophysiology, trace element supply and biogeochemical cycling. Knowledge or experience of at sea observational and/or experimental work, or data analysis thereof, related to phytoplankton/microbial ecology/physiology and trace elements would be advantageous. Strong quantitative and communication skills, and the ability to conduct innovative research resulting in publications in international refereed journals are essential. The successful applicants will be provided with a supportive and rewarding environment for further development of their knowledge, skills and experience, including through working as part of a large interdisciplinary oceanographic team comprised of sea-going phytoplankton and zooplankton ecologists, nutrient and trace metal biogeochemists and experts in ocean modelling. Job Description SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION DIVISION (CPED) The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors.
