Basic information and contact details for Gachon University
Gachon University was established 2012 through the merger of Gachon University of Medicine and Kyungwon University. Both had undergone earlier mergers, incorporating Gachon-Gi College and Kyungwon College respectively, in 2007.
The global campus in Seongnam, part of Seoul Metropolitan district, is close to the city’s international airport and has its own metro station. It accommodates schools of liberal arts, business, social science, humanities, law, engineering, bio-nano technology, semiconductors, IT convergence, Korean medicine, physical education, graduate arts and science, and the special graduate school.
The medical campus in Incheon accommodates medicine, nursing, health sciences, pharmacy, laboratory science and the advanced institute of health science and technology.
Software education is compulsory for every student.
The university has a medical centre and an artificial intelligence centre which offered the first programme in artificial intelligence in Korea from 2020.
An international agreement with Hawaii Pacific University enables 300 GU students to spend periods of four to 15 weeks in Hawaii every year.
