The ‘G. d’Annunzio’ University of Chieti-Pescara (Ud’A) takes its name from the Italian poet, novelist, dramatist and military hero, Gabriele d’Annunzio, one of the leading writers of Italy in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Ud’A began offering systematic undergraduate and graduate degrees in 1965 as a ‘Libera Università’ with the formation of four Faculties. By 1982 Ud’A became state-owned. Since then Ud’A has been growing in terms of number of courses offered (now 35 undergraduate, 28 graduate, five graduate (ciclo unico), 30 masters and 17 PhD programmes).
There are now 14 departments organised in three schools.
