The Discipline of OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY is a global leader in allied health. We are at the forefront of enhancing occupational therapy practice, policy and education in Australia by extending the knowledge base of the profession and educating leading practitioners. The Sydney School of health Sciences is ranked 4th in the world for sports related subjects encompassing sport, physical therapy, and rehabilitation, which includes occupational therapy. We are seeking a Lecturer (Level B) in the discipline of OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY who is enthusiastic to advance health education for the next generation of occupational therapists to improve health outcomes for all communities. This is a fixed term 3-year education focused (up to 70% teaching) position and offers an opportunity to dedicate the majority of their contribution to education in occupational therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Your key responsibilities will be to: Undertake a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomes engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements design and deliver multi-disciplinary work-integrated learning units and content engage in supervision of higher-degree research students apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required. About you (selection criteria) A degree in the discipline of occupational therapy PHD / nearing completion of PHD / post graduate qualifications in the discipline of occupational therapy or relevant field highly desirable clinical experience as an occupational therapist in community practice and disability or clinical education highly desirable eligibility for registration with AHPRA Australia or existing registration with AHPRA is desirable proven experience in supervising and mentoring students experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching and teaching in a variety of settings a developing network of relationships with key academics, industry and professionals institutions, partners and stakeholders demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
