Located in the municipality of Benguerir, in the very heart of the Green City, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University aspires to leave its mark nationally, continentally, and globally. Context We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly in the development and application of Large Language Models (LLMs), to join our team working on predictive maintenance solutions. The ideal candidate will have recently completed (or be close to completing) a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or a related field, with a thesis focused on AI, specifically LLMs. The candidate will apply their expertise to advance predictive maintenance systems using AI tools. Key Responsibilities: Conduct innovative research on the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) to predictive maintenance challenges. Develop and fine-tune LLMs to analyze and interpret unstructured data (e.g., maintenance logs, sensor data, technical reports) for predictive insights Collaborate with domain experts to integrate LLM-based solutions into predictive maintenance workflows. Explore the use of LLMs for anomaly detection, failure prediction, and optimization of maintenance schedules. Publish high-impact research in top-tier conferences and journals at the intersection of AI, NLP, and industrial applications. Contribute to the development of scalable and interpretable AI tools for real-world deployment. Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or a related field, with a thesis focused on AI, particularly LLMs. Strong publication record in top AI/ML/NLP conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, etc.). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. In-depth understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and fine tuning techniques for LLMs. Experience with time-series data, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance is a strong plus. Familiarity with industrial datasets and domain-specific challenges is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Description of the position: The successful candidates will contribute to an interdisciplinary research program focused on understanding the sources, mobility, and bioavailability of cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), and arsenic (As) in agricultural soils, and their effects on plant growth, nutrient uptake, and physiological performance. The research will explore interactions between trace elements, soil microbial communities, and plant–soil feedback mechanisms, as well as their impacts on key soil health indicators, including biological, chemical, and functional attributes. About ASARI The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) launched by UM6P in Laayoune in 2020 within the Foum Eloued technopole project focuses on several research and development programs including biosaline agriculture, native species valorisation, camel value chain, water and renewable energy. The institute consists of a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, biochemists, molecular biologists, bioprocess specialists, animal scientist, etc to respond to regional challenges affecting marginal environments. Job Summary The postdoc will conduct research, prepare proposals, write reports and scientific papers to study the botany and ecology of native desert plant species of south of Morocco as well as their interaction of their ecosystems including the soil. The successful candidate will conduct field expeditions to collect plant and soil samples, characterize vegetation and their habitats as well as identifying plant species. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Develop clear and strong methodology according to high standards in the field of plant ecology and botany. Conduct botanical expeditions to characterize native plant species of south of Morocco. Collect plant and soil samples and study interactives synergies between native species and their ecosystems. Identify plant species using botanical identification keys and AI tools. Elaborate plant and soil databases Conduct ethnobotanical field surveys Elaborate atlas botanical book including design and content Data scheduling, collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
