Fountain University

Fountain University is a private Islamic university located just outside Osogbo in Osun state. It was founded in 2007 by the Nasrul-lahi-i-Fathi Society (NASRAT). 
Students can study at the colleges of basic medical and health sciences, natural and applied science, management and social sciences, and a law school offering courses in common and Islamic law.
Agreements have been struck with overseas institutions including Duke University, North Carolina and the Catholic University of Belgium.
All students live on campus and must register 70 per cent attendance at lectures, which are electronically monitored.

About the position

An academic at this level will contribute to teaching, engage in scholarship and/or research and/or professional activities appropriate for the discipline of Biomedical Sciences. They might undertake administration and academic responsibilities for subject coordination.   

Some duties:


	Develop, coordinate, and teach in areas of biochemistry, pharmacology or immunology and infectious disease.
	Deliver a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and workshops.
	Demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching and contribute to disciplinary teaching pedagogy.
	Keep abreast of innovations in teaching and learning in areas such as, but not restricted to, online and blended delivery and incorporate where appropriate.
	Participate in innovative course-level curriculum design, development, and review.
	
	Be available Monday through Friday (on your contracted days) to contribute to face-to-face teaching and activities on the Bendigo campus as required 
	


Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;


	PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/discipline as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
	Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
	Demonstrated ability to influence the teaching practice of others.
	Demonstrated commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner, including engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and knowledges, and a willingness to undertake ongoing cultural safety training and reflection.
	Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively, and productively with staff and students.
	Demonstrated capacity to work with partner organisations to develop meaningful workplace experiences for students.
	Evidenced ability to work with partner organisations to develop appropriate competency-based assessment for students.

The Department of Network and Data Science invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the assistant professor level in the broadly defined areas of network science and computational social science.

The candidates should have strong motivation to conduct interdisciplinary research with socially relevant impact. In particular, they should be interested in participating in teaching courses and developing projects in collaboration with other departments at CEU, and to engage with the broader research community in Vienna and Austria. Duties and Responsibilities 

Candidates should be able to:


	Teach data science methodology courses and elective courses applied in social contexts at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
	Produce high-quality academic research in the field of network science and computational social science.
	Supervise theses at both undergraduate and graduate levels and PhD students in the Network Science PhD program.


The standard teaching load at CEU is comparable to that of research universities, 12 US credits per academic year, in addition to thesis supervision.

Qualifications

We seek applications with a background in any of the fields of network science, quantitative fields of social sciences, social data science, computer science or natural sciences, with an excellent publication record, international experience and visibility, and research interest in network science and computational social science.

Candidates must hold a PhD in one of these or closely related fields and they should demonstrate:


	Excellent record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
	Proof of didactic knowledge to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels

This position is a maternity leave replacement, and it is vacant for the period of absence of the member of staff. Your future position is at the Department of Political Science in the research area of Comparative Policy Analysis.

The Department of Political Science, a subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, addresses all major fields of political science. It is dedicated to innovative and problem-oriented research and provides students with a wide range of specialisations. Members of the Department study the transformation of governance, statehood and democracy across different policy areas, geographical regions and political areas.

You will join the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity (CeSCoS), led by Professor Barbara Prainsack. This research group investigates how solidarity shapes social justice, institutional design, and policy interventions across a range of domains, using rigorous qualitative and theoretically grounded approaches. The Centre brings together pre- and post-doctoral researchers and fellows from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. You would be welcome to bring and pursue your own research interests within the team.

Your future tasks:

Participation in research, teaching and administration in the field of comparative policy analysis and qualitative methods as well as in the research group CeSCoS (Centre for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity, led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Barbara Prainsack).

This involves, in particular, the participation in the organisation of events, seminars, and other formats of academic collaboration and exchange:


	Support with research projects and grant applications

	Master's (or equivalent) degree in the field of political science or a similar discipline relevant to comparative policy analysis

Candidates must have a PhD degree in related discipline, and an extensive track record in the development and delivery of teaching units with proven ability to provide effective leadership and management of groups and teaching activities. Proven ability with demonstrated success in obtaining sources of funding, previous experience of successfully supervising PhD students to completion, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English are essential.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 635,038 to RMB 780,622 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

About the Role

As the School of International Studies enters a sustained period of growth, we are looking for a talented scholar to help strengthen our International Studies Program. This is a position available to start August 2026. 

Candidates should have a completed PhD in International Studies/International Relations/Political Science or a related field by the post start date and demonstrate ability to contribute to the broader interdisciplinarity of International Studies.

Candidates must evidence ability to teach core and specialist courses in International Studies broadly understood, evidence experience or ability in teaching survey courses in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Economy. Especially attractive will be someone with a track record in quantitative research methods, data science or (political) philosophy. Experience with, or interest in developing, experiential and career-focused learning pedagogy would be considered a plus. Expected is ability to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and where applicable PhD supervision experience.

We seek candidates with strong research expertise and interests in International studies, European and or Area studies; demonstrable ability to undertake and publish excellent research with record or potential for grant capture. The role will be responsible for generating new intellectual understanding/knowledge through the application of knowledge and for developing ideas for application of research and teaching outcomes.
