The Florida Institute of Technology is a private non profit, doctoral/research university located in Melbourne, Florida. The university was founded in 1958, initially called the Brevard Engineering College, and was renamed the Florida Institute of Technology in 1966. The university was founded in the same year that NASA got its start. There are seven main academic divisions focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and aviation. Students from more than 100 countries worldwide attend Florida Tech. Each year the university holds the International Festival as a celebration of cultural diversity and the international community among the students. International student societies showcase their cultures, food and traditional dress to the rest of the student body. The university has 132 active student organisations on campus. This includes university-sponsored students' organisations such as the student government association, campus activities board, the homecoming committee and The Crimson, which is the award-winning student-run newspaper. Other organisations include the anime club, amateur radio club, the dance association and the film society. There are also a lot of sports clubs that students can join such as flag football, ultimate frisbee, martial arts, ice hockey and Collegiate wrestling and baseball. The mascot of the university is a panther. The institute has six on-campus residential halls, as well as apartment-style housing options located near the campus. There is also a student book shop, career management services, counselling and psychological services, disability services and a health centre on campus. There is also plenty of varied on-campus facilities where students can spend their spare time such as the Botanical Garden and the official site of the Florida Tech jet dragster racing team.

Description The Prof. Sunil Kumar’s Research Group in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a junior research scientist to develop AI-enabled healthcare applications. Key Responsibilities: Develop and fine-tune computer-vision models, instance segmentation, and retrieval-based estimation from images and text metadata. Build and evaluate monocular depth pipelines and implement multimodal retrieval with re-rankers for robust profile selection. Design and train advanced AI models for digital twin: 3D model learning, prediction models from imaging and molecular data, model-based simulation coupling, and uncertainty-aware outputs for lab/clinical validation. Work with 3D datasets, time-series sensors, and multi-omics or assay data to create predictive models and digital twin prototypes. Maintain reproducible code, experiments, and model/ dataset versioning; develop deployment artifacts (Docker, CI/CD scripts) and support cloud/HPC model training. Plan, run and analyze pilot studies (SME pilots and lab validation); participate in data collection, annotation and lab assay coordination. Write up results and contribute to publications, technical reports and presentations for academic and non-academic stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, applied mathematics, computational biology, bioengineering, or a closely related discipline. Solid experience training and evaluating AI models. Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow). Experience with dataset curation, annotation workflows, FAISS/embedding retrieval, LLM-based parsing, RAG-style pipeline, and GPU/HPC training. Familiarity with 3D data processing or willingness to learn quickly. Publications, thesis work, or demonstrable projects in computer vision, multi-modal ML, digital twins or biomedical ML. Familiarity with uncertainty quantification and model explainability methods. Strong software engineering practices: Git, reproducible experiments, modular code, deploying models in cloud (AWS/GCP) and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes). Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams. Description We are inviting applications for a Post-doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics focusing on Macro, Labor and/or Development Economics. The appointment is for 2 years and will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and UAE visa acquisition by the prospective post-doctoral candidate. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Pauline Corblet and Professor Samreen Malik. The collaborative research will be on labor and education economics with a particular focus on structural models tied with labor market surveys to study the role of beliefs in the labor market in both developed and developing economies. We seek a candidate with expertise in both empirical and theoretical economics, with good coding skills. The role will involve designing surveys, working with existing datasets, and applying structural models relating to human capital development and labor markets. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation.
