Ferhat Abbas Sétif1 University is one of the Important Algerian universities. It is located in the dynamic city of Sétif, in the eastern high lands of Algeria. Founded in 1978 in a spirit of innovation and constant quest for quality and excellence, it has become a major actor for the socioeconomic development of the Sétif region. Since 1992, the University of Sétif bears the name of the illustrious Ferhat ABBAS, as well-known figure of the national movement and first President of the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic (1958). In 2011, the University of Sétif was divided into two universities Sétif 1 and Sétif 2. The first one is dedicated to exact sciences, life sciences and technology while the second university is devoted to humanities, languages, and law. Today, Sétif 1 University offers dozens of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. In addition, it provides doctoral programs in several disciplines covering a wide range of subjects, mainly economic sciences, engineering, life and health sciences… Sétif 1 University has more than 37,000 students spread over three campuses divided into 5 Faculties and 3 Institutions: Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Commercial and Management Sciences, Institute of Architecture and Earth Sciences, Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanic and Institute of Materials Science and Techniques. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of an advanced content moderation framework for immersive 3D virtual environments, such as Roblox and Minecraft. The research staff will play a key role in building and integrating of AI agents into gaming scenarios (e.g., gameplay, interactions, procedural content generation, dynamic narratives), and integrating a multimodal detection pipeline, ensuring real-time performance, scalability, and deployment readiness in alignment with the project’s research objectives. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including renowned researchers at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Collaborate with the PI, Co-PIs and NTU team to design and develop a robust and scalable software system for autonomous agents navigating immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft). Ensure the system is deployment-ready by supporting benchmarking of inference speed, compute efficiency, and scalability with concurrent agents. Maintain high software engineering standards through rigorous testing, version control, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of development infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, cloud-based services). Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong programming proficiency in Python and/or C++. Demonstrable experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). Hands-on experience with game AI agents and/or GUI agents such as Mineflayer, Unity ML-Agents, or similar. Solid expertise in computer vision techniques, transformer architectures, and multi-modal learning. Familiarity with reinforcement learning (RL) principles, curriculum learning strategies, and the challenges of real-time systems. Working knowledge of distributed systems and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Communicate research findings and project progress effectively through demos, internal presentations, and contributions to external academic forums where appropriate. Maintain high software engineering standards through rigorous testing, version control, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of development infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, cloud-based services). Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Responsibilities Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience in designing and implementing software systems involving multi-agent frameworks. Familiarity with immersive platform development (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft), including scripting (Lua/Java), agent behavior modeling, event handling, and API-based integration with external AI systems. We are seeking a Level A or B Research Associate/ Fellow with expertise in implementation research that includes quantitative and qualitative methods, to assist in research that will evaluate a targeted strategy to support health professionals in delivering more effective, evidence-based care for knee osteoarthritis, with the aim of reducing low-value treatments and improving patient outcomes. This project focuses on improving care for people with osteoarthritis, a common and painful condition that costs the Australian healthcare system over $4 billion each year. Although the most effective treatments involve education, exercise and weight management, many patients are not offered these options and instead receive unnecessary imaging or are referred for surgery that may not benefit them. We are seeking a highly motivated academic Research Associate/Fellow (Level A or B) to lead and coordinate key elements of a complex health research trial. In this role, you will establish and manage governance and stakeholder groups while leading protocol development and contributing to data acquisition, analysis and management. The position involves engaging with a wide range of stakeholders-including GPs, physiotherapists, primary health networks, and local healthcare providers-to support trial activities. You will lead co-design workshops and implementation strategy development, oversee pilot and full trial delivery, drive process evaluation activities and supervise junior staff, including a PhD student and data analyst.
