We are now seeking an Independent Trustee to join our Board, to take part in planning for and ensuring that we deliver our new strategy. All our Trustees need to have a keen interest in, and empathy for, Higher Education. On this occasion, we are particularly interested in individuals who offer experience of shaping long-term financial and operational strategy and planning in a complex organisation, supported by financial and/ or operational leadership experience, or expertise in legal and regulatory matters with strong governance experience. Appointments to the Board are made for a term of up to three or four years, with the possibility of reappointment. The Board typically meets six times a year, plus an annual strategy day. It is the norm that our Trustees also serve on one or more of the Committees of the Board. Committees meet between two and four times a year. In addition to this, and to engage our Trustees with the activities of the University, Trustees are invited to various events throughout the year, such as Foundation Day and the Distinguished Speakers Series. It is located in Laayoune City and constitutes a structure of practical-based research with a vision of offering versatile infrastructure for cultivation and conversion of algae based on merging biotechnology, environmental science, and sustainability. Driven by innovation, sustainability, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the center aims to bridge research and practical applications for the development of a large spectrum of applications in agriculture, cosmetical, pharmaceuticals, feed and food industry, bioremediation, climate change mitigation, and renewable energy production. Description of the position: Train and teach undergraduate and/or graduate students on marine biology, seaweeds cultivation, and aquaculture, as well as special courses related to the candidate's specialization. Supervise M.Sc. and PhD students. Develop research proposals and instigate high-quality research aligned with the vision of the research center. Participate in various committees at the center, college, and university levels. Enhance the research profile of the center through the publication of research findings. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the management of the center. Effectively disseminate research outcomes through publications and presentations to academic peers, students, and the broader community. About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions. Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms of all transformations in order to propose new original alternatives in terms of efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability. Position Overview We invite outstanding applicants whose research lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Chemistry. The successful candidate will develop a competitive research program, contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and engage in collaborative projects with faculty, students, and industrial partners.
