Feng Chia University (FCU) was founded in 1961 in the city of Taichung on the west coast of Taiwan. Originally called the Feng Chia College of Engineering and Business, university status was granted in 1980. Since then FCU has grown in terms of student numbers and in scope to become one of the most successful universities in Taiwan.

The university currently boasts eight schools and colleges teaching a diverse range of business and engineering programmes and offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programs. FCU is currently expanding its English language taught programs, especially in international business qualifications.

The main FCU campus is a spacious network of leafy quads and plazas surrounded by academic buildings in the heart of the Xitun district near central Taichung.

FCU prides itself on the quality of its published research papers especially in the fields of engineering, materials science and computer science. The university is one of the world leaders on bio-hydrogen fuel research.

Polling of executives from Taiwan’s top 1,000 businesses has consistently placed FCU among the top ten universities in Taiwan in terms of the quality of its graduates over the last eight years. The university has also consistently won government grants on the strength of its teaching and research.

The university also has close ties to industry and commerce offering professional internship opportunities through its graduate scheme as well as fostering industry partnerships and running its own incubator to help students turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Among many annual sporting events FCUs tug of war competition is a time-honoured tradition with a 40-year history that embodies the spirit of teamwork and competition and serves as a bond between students, faculty and alumni.

The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position, focusing on synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic research team focusing on the development of new small molecules to treat ASS1-deficient tumors such as mesothelioma. The role The post holder will design and synthesise small molecules aimed at developing new therapeutic strategies for ASS1-deficient tumours. Your work will develop important structure–activity relationship (SAR) data across a number of different tumor types. The ultimate aim is to derive a number of lead compounds to take forward to advanced in vitro and in vivo studies. Working within a multidisciplinary research environment spanning chemistry, structural biology, and cancer biology, you will manage your own research programme while contributing to the broader strategic direction and day-to-day running of the research group. The post offers opportunities to learn and be trained in molecular biology techniques alongside their synthetic chemistry work. You will also help supervise and mentor MSc and PhD students, contribute to training activities, and support collaborative projects across the group and with external partners. In addition, you will contribute to manuscript preparation, grant and project development, maintenance of accurate electronic laboratory notebooks and databases, and the generation of new research ideas. The role provides scope to develop independent projects and scientific directions aligned with the group’s overarching research themes. About you Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry. You should have hands-on experience in organic synthesis and small molecule characteristion and have demonstrated the ability to design and complete multistep chemical routes. Experience in amino acid/peptide chemistry and/or preparing transition metal complexes would be advantageous.  You will be highly organised, maintain detailed records, and be proficient in standard chemical software (e.g. ChemDraw, Reaxys, MNova, MS Office). You will be competent at communicating complex scientific data clearly, contribute to publications and grant applications, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. You will also demonstrate initiative and adaptability, balancing multiple priorities while contributing proactively to the scientific and operational activities of the research group. You will have enthusiasm for translational cancer research and a willingness to learn new techniques, including molecular and cellular biology. We create, share and apply scientific knowledge to improve health by building new technology for cancer imaging and targeted radiation therapy. We engage with industry, hospitals, international collaborators and universities to forge relationships that help take our projects from lab bench to patient bedside. Image X is a part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (level A Step 6) to work on a research project harnessing the power of artificial-intelligence (AI) to improve radiation therapy treatment for patients with cardiac arrhythmias. In this project you will build new targeting technologies based on AI and x-ray imaging that solve the challenges of complex cardiac motion during radiation therapy. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of advanced non-invasive cardiac mapping approaches, involving multi-signal acquisition, signal processing and inverse modelling. The role is based at the Image X Institute and will be led by Dr Chandrima Sengupta. You will benefit from a strong mentoring environment; lead and be part of high impact research. You will be based at South Eveleigh (formerly the Australian Technology Park) and spend time at our partner hospitals. The Role and Department The Senior Research Contracts Manager will provide expert leadership in the negotiation, drafting and management of research agreements, ensuring that the University's interests are protected while enabling high quality research activity to proceed efficiently. Acting as a senior point of escalation for complex or high risk contractual matters, the post holder will offer authoritative advice on contractual terms, governance requirements and compliance obligations across a diverse range of funders and partners. The role will involve drafting and negotiating a wide variety of research agreements, including collaboration agreements, contract research agreements, framework agreements, subcontracts, sub awards and studentships, working with a broad range of UK and international sponsors and collaborators. The post holder will also contribute to the smooth running of the research contract's function, including co ordinating the development of standard agreements and supporting the design and implementation of robust internal contracting processes and workflows, ensuring continuous enhancement of research contracting across the institution. You will work alongside two otherSenior Research Contracts Managers who provide leadership and oversight for the University's research contracting function, ensuring consistent practice, effective workload management and a coordinated, high quality service. The post holder will build strong working relationships with academic colleagues, Professional Services teams and external partners, providing clear guidance and negotiation leadership that balances institutional risk with enabling research activity. This role is central to ensuring contractual readiness, robust risk management and the effective transition of projects into delivery. A thorough understanding of the UK HEI research funding landscape is essential. Reporting to the Head of Research Operations, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team. The post holder must be highly organised, detail focused and proactive in solving problems, with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload. You will be comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects at different stages of development. As a confident communicator, you will form close working relationships with colleagues across the Operations Team, the Research Development Team, Faculty Offices, Heads of Department, Directors of Research, Department Managers and other Professional Support Staff.
