The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) is based in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. What began as a Higher College of Agriculture and Veterinary Science in 1922 is now a federal university – and has been since 1969 – based in the city of Viçosa. UFV is consistently ranked well when compared to other universities in Brazil.

This region is best known for its industrial development, and represents the most important economic region of Brazil offering plenty of opportunities for the universities tech graduates.

It is now a technical university which offers courses in engineering, agronomy, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, and many other science related areas.

The university is spread across three separate campuses: Viçosa, Florestal and Rio Paranaíba. Each concentrates and offers specific courses, for instance Viçosa offers courses in a vast array of areas of the human knowledge while Rio Paranaíba offers specialised degrees such as vegetable production.

The UFV offers a wide range of services on each campus which includes laboratories, forest reserves, a library, sports and leisure areas, restaurants, banks, and medical services.

There are plenty of opportunities for exchange programmes, as the university has agreements in place with approximately 100 institutions from 24 different countries.

The UFV is also part of the Innovation Network created by the 100,000 Strong in the Americas initiative –  a recent program designed to increase the number of U.S. students studying in the Western Hemisphere to 100,000, and the number of Western Hemisphere students studying in the United States to 100,000 by 2020.

They will lead a team of Research Assistants and Research Officers, actively contribute to various activities at the Institute. We are seeking a Registered Children’s Nurses active on the NMC register to join the Children’s Nursing Team in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health at the University of Southampton. Research Fellow A on the Nurse Suicide Study

The role We are looking for a motivated and collaborative researcher to join the Wellcome-funded Nurse Suicide Project. The risk of suicide in women nurses is 23% higher than women in other occupations but current research exploring suicidality in women nurses is limited. This ground-breaking and transformative project seeks to revision the ways in which nurse distress and suicidality are articulated and understood. The project encompasses five individual studies looking at different elements of this topic. For more information about this project and team, visit our website You’ll be working on study 5, which aims to understand how the experience of a workplace complaint or investigation impacts on the distress and suicidality of women registered nurses. The study will use a mixed methods approach including an on-line survey and narrative interviews. Ethical approval for the study is in place. This is a full-time fixed-term post for 24 months, although we would consider part-time (0.8FTE) for the right candidate if preferred. You’ll play a central role in delivery of the study, contributing across all stages of the research, including: Survey and interviews Coordinating survey distribution with nursing organisations across the UK Supporting recruitment of nurses for in-depth interviews Conducting interviews  Undertaking thematic analysis Supporting statistical analysis of survey data PPIE, dissemination, and team working Liaising with the study nurse advisory group Contributing to funder reports, academic papers, conferences, and accessible summaries About you We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, curious, and committed to high-quality research that makes a difference to people’s lives.
