Your personal sphere of play: The Ameres Lab is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Postdoc to lead, support and coordinate research projects in RNA biology, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms of cytoplasmic and nuclear RNA degradation and turnover in mammalian cells. The position includes responsibilities for practical and theoretical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and RNA Biology. The Ameres lab is an internationally competitive, innovative, and creative research group investigating fundamental cellular mechanisms in the regulation of gene expression and RNA metabolism by combining genome-wide transcriptomics approaches with cutting-edge genetic, molecular and biochemical assays. Your future tasks: Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means: This involves initiating, planning, coordinating, and supporting research projects and scientific studies in RNA biology, publishing in international peer-reviewed journals, giving lectures and seminars, contributing to practical and theoretical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in Biology/Molecular Biology, co-supervising and mentoring Master's and PhD students, taking over organizational responsibilities in the lab and the institute, and getting involved in occasional public outreach activities. This is part of your personality: PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field Excellent understanding of and prior experience in RNA Biology, in particular RNA decay and turnover, RNA exosome biology, and the molecular mechanisms of (post-transcriptional) gene regulation and related biological processes Strong expertise in genetic engineering (CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing), mammalian cell culture (BSL1/BSL2), flow cytometry, transcriptomics and next-generation sequencing (NGS), proteomics, and basic molecular biology and biochemistry. Bioinformatics skills for the analysis of NGS data are beneficial. Strong publication and scientific track record, including first-author publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Strong motivation to lead, support, and provide feedback on projects in the lab. Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and in mentoring and practical supervision of internship, Master's and PhD students. Excellent spoken and written English skills; German skills are beneficial. Team player with high social/communication skills. Experience in science communication and public outreach is beneficial. Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have an MSc or an MA in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict). Description The Kamei Reverse Bioengineering Laboratory within the Divisions of Science and Engineering at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position that advances the frontiers of developmental biology and disease modeling. The laboratory integrates stem-cell biology, fluorescence imaging, bioinformatics, and advanced nano- and micro-engineering to decode organogenesis and early embryogenesis, translating these insights into regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and precision therapeutics. The appointed fellow will design and fabricate nano- and micro-engineered platforms that interface with human stem cells, investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms governing development and pathology, lead experiments from conception through publication in high-impact journals, mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers, and contribute to grant writing and interdisciplinary collaborations.
