This role is a balanced teaching and research role. It involves contributing to high-quality teaching through the preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, conducting tutorials and workshops, subject coordination responsibilities, and developing engaging subject material, as well as the pursuit of a high quality academic research program including peer-reviewed publications and external grant acquisition. The successful candidate will also support the ongoing enhancement of course content in collaboration with senior academic staff. In addition, the role includes supervising honours and postgraduate coursework and research students, marking and assessment, and providing regular consultation and academic support to students. The Lecturer will contribute to research and professional activity within the discipline, engage in curriculum development, and participate in the administrative and collegial life of the School, including meetings, committees, and other duties as required. As the successful candidate, you will hold a doctoral qualification in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, or a relevant related discipline and bring a strong record of achievement in research, including a demonstrated track record of refereed publications. The research area is open, but candidates with expertise in comparative politics, political institutions, gender and politics, and environmental politics are particularly encouraged to apply. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across academic and service environments. You will demonstrate strong tertiary teaching experience, with the ability to motivate, engage and educate diverse student cohorts. You will also bring experience in curriculum and subject development, especially the willingness and ability to teach large introductory classes in political science, alongside a commitment to ongoing scholarly activity and research excellence. A proven ability to work cooperatively with students, colleagues and external partners, and a collegiate approach to working within a team environment, will be essential. Lead transformational blood cancer research with national reach and international influence, supported by a landmark partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation. Full-time appointment on a five-year fixed-term basis. The University of Western Australia, in partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation, is seeking an internationally recognised academic leader to be appointed as the Leukaemia Foundation Tony Fini Chair in Blood Cancer. This newly created position represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of blood cancer research nationally and globally. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher and leader in blood cancer or related blood disorders, with a distinguished record of research excellence, competitive grant success, translational impact and academic leadership. You will lead an ambitious, internationally competitive research program with a strong focus on prevention, early detection and diagnostics, areas traditionally underrepresented in blood cancer research. Job Purpose:  The Research Engineer will support applied research and innovation in sustainability focusing on, but not limited to, the Built Environment sector, working with internal teams and industry partners to develop practical solutions. The role focuses on translating scientific concepts into scalable solutions that address challenges in mitigating the impact of climate change and meeting environmental sustainability target through resource efficiency, energy management, renewable energy, waste management, and other sustainable solutions for various industries. Research engineers will collaborate closely with faculty, professional officers and industry partners to execute commercially viable solutions that address real-world challenges. In the process, research engineers gain valuable applied research capabilities aligned with evolving industry needs. Key Responsibilities: Applied Research & Development Perform sustainability assessment and analysis for organizational green transition. Develop of sustainability solutions and training roadmap development for organizational green transition, focusing on but not limited to the Built Environment sector. Develop and execute of sustainability projects by conducting experiments, data collection, and analysis for Proof of Concept (POC) and implementation for organisations in, but not limited to, the built environment sector at neighbourhood-scale and building-scale, such as microclimate study, building energy and resource-use efficiency, sustainability strategies and technologies. Industry Collaboration Support collaborations with industry partners to understand problem statements and contribute to solution development Assist in project scoping by gathering technical inputs and identifying relevant capabilities within the ecosystem (IHLs, research centres, industry partners) Participate in industry meetings, discussions, and project engagements Project Execution & Support Assist in planning and executing projects to ensure timely delivery of outcomes Generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation on the development of sustainability solutions and applications Contribute to grant proposals and project submissions where required Track project progress and maintain proper documentation of activities Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ year experience in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services. Strong knowledge and experience in building passive strategies, ACMV systems and control. Hands on experience on experimental studies, including urban microclimate and thermal comfort study, is highly advantageous. Possess understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., LCA, carbon foot printing, resource efficiency). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Key competencies:  Possess understanding of sustainability challenges faced by industries locally and globally.
