Job Responsibilities Provide information materials and consultation on studying abroad, exchange programs, funding, and scholarships. Assist in application and selection processes for international programs in coordination with Academic Affairs. Manage application procedures, coordinate nomination processes, and support students in preparing required documents for double-degree or other exchange programs. Coordinate with partner universities, and academic departments/faculties to create Learning Agreements and ensure credit transfer and academic recognition. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Relations, German Studies, Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Clinical Research Methodology and Education Specialist for the Centre of Excellence CREATIC | CZECRIN (with working hours 32 - 40 per week) The CREATIC Centre of Excellence of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno was established on 1 January 2024 and focuses on research and development of cell and gene therapy for selected rare diseases. We are currently looking for a colleague to join our center who will contribute to the design, preparation, development, and expert review of courses within a comprehensive educational program focused on clinical research methodology. The program is primarily intended for professionals in clinical research engaged in lifelong learning. Practical experience in clinical research is desirable, particularly for the ability to translate theoretical principles into concrete and understandable examples. Your responsibilities will include identifying the key courses within the program, co-developing their structure, and defining and preparing expert content in collaboration with other colleagues. The Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs (COMBS) for Breakthrough Science aims to explore the society wide transformations that will flow from optical frequency combs - thousands of highly pure light signals precisely spaced across the entire optical spectrum - by leveraging and building upon the latest breakthroughs in physics, materials science and nanofabrication. It expects to generate a wide new base of knowledge in fields as diverse as astronomy, spectroscopy, chemical sensors, and precision measurement. Expected outcomes include the capability to realise complete comb systems on a chip the size of a fingernail, tailored to specific applications, with significant benefits spanning from imaging live cells to autonomous vehicles, satellite communications, and the search for exoplanets. About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Research Fellow to join our dynamic team in addressing the crucial challenge of recovering resources from waste. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a high-profile European project (OLinWASTE) of international relevance aimed at establishing a groundbreaking case study for an integrated zero-emission biorefinery to convert olive mill wastes into valuable resources. The overall project will upcycle olive mill waste into high-value products such as plant bioimmunostimulants, biopesticides, biofertilizers, biobased plastics, and bioenergy. The focus on the candidate for this position will be on developing treatment processes exploiting the metabolic flexibility of phototrophic microorganisms to recover polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) and macronutrients (N, P) from digestate and other waste effluents. Utilising state-of-the-art facilities and collaborating with other project partners, the role encompasses the planning, implementation of experimental tests and the operation of laboratory and small-scale reactors to grow phototrophic microorganisms and assess their ability to remove organics and nutrients, and accumulate PHAs. The role will also involve the assessment of the use of coarse filtration as a solid-liquid separation strategy for the implementation of photo-bioreactors. Your work will contribute to an international project, inform strategies and asset design to exploit the potential of phototrophic microorganisms for the recovery of value from waste and the protection of the environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional passionate about engineering, environmental science, biology or biotechnology to impact the agro-industrial and waste sectors significantly. About You You will be educated to doctoral level (or close to completion) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology or Biotechnology, and have experience in management research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. You will have experience in research involving phototrophic microorganisms (either autotrophic or heterotrophic) and a track record of translating the microbiological properties of these microorganisms into engineering applications. The role will also involve using coarse filtration (mesh or cloth filtration) as a solid-liquid separation strategy for the biomass recovery in continuous photo-bioreactors. With excellent communication skills, you will have expertise in wastewater and/or waste treatments and biological processes for resource recovery.
