Escola Superior Pedagógica do Cuanza-Norte (ESPCN) is a public higher education institution located in Ndalatando, the capital of Angola’s Cuanza-Norte province. It was founded in 2007 as part of a national effort to expand teacher training across the country.

The university’s mission is to strengthen Angola’s education system by training highly qualified teachers, advancing research in pedagogy, and supporting the development of local communities through outreach and applied learning.

There is around 85 teaching staff, including both Angolan and international lecturers, 

The university offers bachelor’s degrees across a range of subject areas, including primary education, early childhood education, Portuguese, and foreign languages (English and French), mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, history, geography and linguistics. 

The university currently provides study options through both daytime and evening classes. Since awarding its first degrees in 2012, ESPCN has graduated more than 3,000 students, many of whom now work in schools across the country and internationally.

The role will support the Jewish Studies and the Holocaust and Genocide Studies minor through the development and delivery of lectures, seminars and tutorials, while also contributing to curriculum development, assessment and subject coordination. The position also involves contributing to research and scholarly activity, supervising and supporting students, and collaborating with colleagues across the Centre. You will participate in academic and administrative service activities that support the teaching and research mission of the Faculty. As the successful candidate, you will bring demonstrated expertise in one or more of these areas, along with a strong commitment to high quality teaching and student engagement. You will have the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and create engaging learning experiences for undergraduate students. Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Hong Kong Medical Council, and postgraduate professional qualifications in clinical disciplines in relation to clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
