Erzurum Technical University

Erzurum Technical University was founded in 2010, in the mountainous city of Erzurum in Turkey – which is significantly closer to Armenia and Georgia than it is to Istanbul. The main university building is a synthesis of Seljuk, Ottoman and modern Turkish architecture.
The first students were admitted in 2012 and graduated three years later. They studied in the same six faculties that ETU still has today: the faculties of letters, science, economics and administration, engineering and architecture, health sciences, and sports sciences. 
The huge central library includes 18 group study rooms and eight study halls. A range of laboratories cater to subjects ranging from molecular biology to technology.
The campus café provides a changing daily menu, serving dishes such as strained lentil soup, eggplant moussaka and shepherd’s salad. 
An on-campus dormitory for female students offers beds for 152 students. This is complemented by state-run dormitories, also on campus, which are able to accommodate 1,500 students. Privately run hostels also operate in areas near the university.
ETU offers more than 30 clubs and societies for students. A number are run by academic departments – for example, the faculty of letters runs a reading club, and the faculty of engineering and architecture runs a civil engineering club. Non-academic clubs include chess club, history club, aviation club and environment, nature and travel club. TEKNOFEST club focuses on aerospace, innovation and technology, entering relevant competitions annually.

About the Position

The Laboratory of Biomedical Imaging and Signal Processing in the Faculty of Engineering is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to join the research team working on advanced MRI technologies, artificial intelligence, computational medical imaging and hardware systems.

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to innovative research projects involving AI-driven MRI analysis, deep learning methodology development, and clinical translation. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary collaborators, including clinicians, imaging scientists, and engineers, to develop advanced computational solutions for medical imaging applications.

	Demonstrated experience developing deep learning models and computational methods.
	Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.


Skills:


	Advanced programming skills in Python.
	Strong experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).

Your professional field of activity:

As a University Assistant (Praedoc), you will complement the research team around Univ.-Prof. Anton Mellit, PhD. The group studies the geometry and topology of moduli spaces and their connections with representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and knot invariants. Your future tasks:

Active Participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	Collaboration and research in the field of geometry and topology of moduli spaces and their connections with representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and knot invariants:

	
		Development of own solutions as part of the research group of Prof. Mellit.
		Conclusion of a dissertation agreement within 12 - 18 month is expected.
		Membership in the Vienna School of Mathematics and active participation in its activities will be required.

The Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems has an ambitious programme of work which aims to develop a robust, resilient and sustainable food system in the transition to healthy diets form sustainable sources. It encompasses a research programme from plant science to nutrition and public health across three jurisdictions - the Republic of Ireland (ROI), Northern Ireland (NI) and Great Britain (GB). The Co-Centre will foster research and innovation to accelerate radical transitions towards a more environmentally and economically sustainable and transparent agri-food sector.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver both a longitudinal household study and an intervention trial to monitor and improve the transition to healthy diets from sustainable sources across the Island of Ireland.The candidate will work together with post-doctoral researchers and research assistants to coordinate and deliver research activities across the projects and identify policy relevance for the study; therefore, excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.

Alongside these responsibilities, the post holder will be responsible for developing a research funding strategy, identifying funding and policy opportunities and drafting and co-ordinating national and international research funding bids, working closely with colleagues from across the Co-Centre.The Research Co-ordinator will also work with counterparts at UCD and Sheffield to engage in national and international networks to highlight the Co-Centre's research, build consortia and develop future partnerships.

We are now seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer in Microbiology to contribute to the teaching and administration of the School’s Foundation, BSc Biochemistry and Biotechnology programmes under the Biomolecular Team’s remit, as well as other relevant undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will complement existing research/teaching activities in the above areas within the school and be encouraged to contribute to research and academic citizenship activity within the School and Faculty, utilising the world-class research facilities available in the Life Science Building as well as in the James Parsons Building.

You will ideally have a PhD qualification in Microbiology or another closely related scientific discipline or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level. You should have teaching and/or research related experience in an area of Microbiology. Some experience of industrial microbiology would be welcomed.
