Our faculty collaborates closely with industry on translational research and innovation with focus on addressing pertinent industry challenges to impact businesses.  The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT to encourage and support outstanding young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The Early Career Awards (ECA) are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed their postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. This award aims to enhance the teaching capabilities of the recipient and help build a strong research portfolio. Supported Areas for START Business, Communication and Design Financial and Sustainability Accounting: The measurement, reporting, and analysis of an organisation's financial performance alongside its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and carbon footprint. Integrating traditional financial accounting principles with sustainability considerations to provide stakeholders with a more comprehensive view of a company's long-term value creation. Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE): The planning, management, and execution of business events, corporate gatherings, and large-scale conferences. This field is a key segment of the tourism and hospitality industry, requiring expertise in event management, business tourism, marketing, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.

Description The Center for Astrophysics and Space Science (CASS) at NYUAD is looking to appoint new independent fellows working in one (or more) of the following center's research fields Extrasolar Planets Galactic Astrophysics (including compact objects) Extragalactic Astrophysics and Cosmology Astroparticle Physics (Dark Matter searches, gamma-ray spectroscopy, gravitational waves) The center currently consists of eight faculty members and more than 25 researchers and PhD students. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate fundamental questions in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and planetary physics from several points of view, with the expertise of its members ranging from collecting and analyzing state-of-the-art data on the nature of the visible and invisible matter in the Universe, to detailed theoretical and numerical studies from planets to galaxies, and linking them together cohesively. We expect successful applicants to work towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. The center fellows will have access to a 70,000-core Infiniband Cluster (Jubail) dedicated to the science division, several GPU-based clusters at NYUAD, and other supercomputer facilities through the CASS network. NYUAD also has guaranteed observing time on the Green Bank Telescope, the Very Long Baseline Array, and Las Cumbres Observatory, and is a participant in SDSS-V. Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a closely related field. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with a likely extension to a total of three years. CASS fellows will have dedicated funds for traveling, computing, publications, etc. The preferred starting date is Fall of 2026. As Singapore’s University for Industry, SIT works closely with industry partners in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: Signal processing combined with AI-based modification on speech signals. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important. Key Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work. Develop the code, evaluate and test. Write academic publications. Deliver solution-ready demonstration code. Interact well within the team and the customers. Be self-directed to fulfil the project requirements. Job Requirements: Competence in working with languages such as C along with AI applications as well as Python-based coding . Have a degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will definitely be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning, pytorch, huggingface etc... Knowledge of speech, audio, time-series or signal processing is required. Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise industry-standard Linux-based computers for AI. Experience of authoring good quality academic publications. Manage undergraduate research assistants (if appropriate). Liaise with customers and collaborators in A*STAR and NTU, as well as collaborators in the UK and China.
