Prof. Christian Böhm, you will contribute to fascinating data mining projects offering the possibility to take over responsibility at an early stage, to publish the results at leading international conferences and to exchange ideas with international and interdisciplinary cooperation partners. We provide intensive support during course of your dissertation. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: Participation in research projects / research studies Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12 months. You work on your dissertation and its completion. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement Supervision of student´s project´s and theses Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration The research should focus on clustering methods, especially deep clustering and representation learning for complex and high-dimensional data. This is part of your personality: Bachelor's and master's degree, both in Computer Science with excellent marks. Excellent command of English Very good mathematical understanding Very good programming skills, mastery of at least two of the following programming languages: Java, C++, C#, Python Strong ability to work in teams Perseverance and ability to make things done High motivation to publish at the top-level conferences Willingness to travel, including participation in national and international conferences Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods Didactic competences / experience with e-learning Desireable knowledge: You should be a team player with high social skills Experience in eye-tracking applications for the analysis of dyslexia. Experience with clustering, representation learning, deep learning. Experience with applications of data mining methods to real data from various domains. The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join an exciting translational oncology programme focused on improving precision approaches to cancer treatment. Working within a multidisciplinary research environment, the successful candidate will support laboratory and translational activities underpinning an innovative cancer research programme with strong clinical relevance. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with researchers and clinicians involved in advanced cancer biology, experimental therapeutics, and translational research. The postholder will contribute to the establishment and maintenance of experimental systems, processing of clinical samples, and generation of high-quality research data to support programme development.
