The university’s campus is located in Abakaliki, the capital city of Ebonyi State in southeastern Nigeria. Ebonyi State University’s roots begin with the Military Administration of Anambra State, which was transformed in 1980 to Anambra State University of Science and Technology. It would later become the first university of science and technology in Nigeria when it gained university status in 1999. The university offers a wide range of degree programmes across its 10 faculties including: agriculture and natural resources, social sciences and humanities, basic medical sciences, clinical medicine, education, management sciences, science, health science and technology, and law.
