Full time, 2 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Chemistr Exciting opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry with DuluxGroup Australia Base Salary, level A/B $113,400 - $121,054 p.a + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Colloidal Science to work on a project funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage Project, in collaboration with industry partner DuluxGroup Australia, on nanostructured polymeric particles as paint additives. You will work under the mentorship of Prof Chiara Neto to achieve controlled assembly of polymer particles, which should lead to paint films that are high-performing, durable, and with long-lasting colour. The project team involves academics expert in functional coatings (Prof Neto), emulsion polymerisation (Dr Nguyen) and in self-assembly and scattering (Prof Warr). Your key responsibilities will be to: achieve controlled assembly of polymer nanoparticles characterise materials properties of the produced polymer films conduct literature reviews, present results to partners and write scientific manuscripts co-supervise research students in the group assist in lab management. About Us The Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) is a research-intensive school with a world-leading

The role  The Zepler Cleanrooms at the University of Southampton are divided into ten facilities to address different areas of technology supporting optical and electronics research and enterprise. This role will report into the Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) facility. Key responsibilities include: Providing specialist advice to Research and Enterprise customers of Electron Beam Lithography tools Engaging with the vendors and other research institutes to develop and improve exposure techniques. Maintaining standard operating procedures for Electron Beam Lithography tools Ensuring laboratory health and safety measures are followed Training users in lithography techniques Delivering EBL services to customers About you You will have excellent technical and communication skills, and eager to rapidly grow your knowledge, cultivate high-impact and valuable skills on the forefront of advanced lithography technology. With the growth in these skills, you are expected to evolve into working independently on highly sophisticated Electron Beam Lithography tools. Research Fellow A on the Nurse Suicide Study

The role We are looking for a motivated and collaborative researcher to join the Wellcome-funded Nurse Suicide Project. The risk of suicide in women nurses is 23% higher than women in other occupations but current research exploring suicidality in women nurses is limited. This ground-breaking and transformative project seeks to revision the ways in which nurse distress and suicidality are articulated and understood. The project encompasses five individual studies looking at different elements of this topic. For more information about this project and team, visit our website You’ll be working on study 5, which aims to understand how the experience of a workplace complaint or investigation impacts on the distress and suicidality of women registered nurses. The study will use a mixed methods approach including an on-line survey and narrative interviews. Ethical approval for the study is in place. This is a full-time fixed-term post for 24 months, although we would consider part-time (0.8FTE) for the right candidate if preferred. You’ll play a central role in delivery of the study, contributing across all stages of the research, including: Survey and interviews Coordinating survey distribution with nursing organisations across the UK Supporting recruitment of nurses for in-depth interviews Conducting interviews  Undertaking thematic analysis Supporting statistical analysis of survey data PPIE, dissemination, and team working Liaising with the study nurse advisory group Contributing to funder reports, academic papers, conferences, and accessible summaries About you We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, curious, and committed to high-quality research that makes a difference to people’s lives.
