About Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute

Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute is a private university in Chennai, the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. While the educational institute was first established in 1988, it didn’t receive university status until 2003.

Today the university has five colleges including Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital, A.C.S. Medical College and Hospital, Raja Rajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru and Faculty of Medicine at Sri Lalithambiagai Medical College and Hospital.

Outside of academia students can join a range of clubs and societies including the National Cadet Corps and the literary seminary workshops.

The Placement and Training Cell at the university aims to find placements for students based on their skills.
