We are looking for Senior Nursing academics with a demonstrated record of excellence in research, scholarship, teaching, and clinical practise.

The Senior Lecturer is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs and will make a significant contribution to research and HDR supervision within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

	Bachelor of Nursing and a and Doctoral degree (PhD) qualification in a relevant health discipline
	Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
	Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and a commitment to contemporary nursing practice
	Demonstrated academic experience, teaching students engaged in undergraduate, preregistration and postgraduate Nursing programs
	Demonstrated academic leadership ability and experience in curriculum development, course design and course writing that is academically relevant and reflects pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards
	Demonstrated establishment of a portfolio of research that enhances the profile of Nursing and the College of Health, through research, independent and/or as a team member, that results in securing competitive funding, publications in refereed journals and/or quality NTROs
	Demonstrated experience supervising course work and higher degree by research (PhD) candidates to timely completion
	Demonstrated experience in the administration of university academic courses and the ability to interpret and apply university policy and procedures including external program accreditation requirements
	Well-developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to positively contribute to the workplace as a part of an academic program team and with relevant stakeholders (including students, industry, government, university and community groups)

Applicants should possess (i) a Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science or equivalent, with 3 years’ related work experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline; (ii) solid statistical and computing skills; (iii) effective communication skills in both written and oral Chinese (mainly Cantonese) and English; and (iv) the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research. Relevant research experience in educational settings will be an advantage.

The appointee will work with the Principal Investigator to conduct research in a predominantly independent manner. Responsibilities will include conducting systematic reviews of literature and focus-group interviews in schools admitting multicultural students at pre-primary and primary levels. They will be responsible for developing study designs, overseeing the timeline of project research outcomes, data collection, management, analysis and interpretation, preparing research reports and research papers, training research assistants, and performing other duties as assigned.

The Context - Why We Need You

'Reimagining Pathways into Environmental Science through Showcasing Technical Careers' is a 29- month project at Durham University funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). The project aims to empower young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds into a technical career in environmental science. Part of the NERC 'Opening up the Environment 2026' work programme, the project seeks to lead and influence opportunities to enable a technical career. It collaborates with environmental science partners to develop opportunities for young people to consider a career in environmental science. It will evaluate and embed learnings from the project that will influence T Level policy and curriculum development. The project has workstreams around the promotion of technical careers, T Level placements, and policy and partnerships between regional Further Education colleges and environmental science industrial partners.

The Role and the Department

The RPM will manage the day-to-day administration of the project including project timeline, key deliverables, financial management (in liaison with the RIS post-award team) and meeting administration. The RPM will support the workstream leads in the organisation of key elements within each workstream, including collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders (including FE Colleges and students) to organise and establish T Level placement opportunities and meeting liaison with industry partners and collaborators. The RPM will lead on event organisation and marketing, and the communications and engagement plan. The PM will work alongside the project team to ensure the smooth running of the project and that risks are mitigated and managed. The RPM will also be involved in the project reporting phase enabling the dissemination of outputs, as well as the final close of the project.

We believe this role presents an excellent opportunity for candidates who would like to develop a career in research and innovation culture and project management. We are looking for an exceptional Postdoctoral Researcher with interest in developing research leadership in the context of IAT and its core strands of activities, including REF 2029, and proven experience of managing, evaluation and auditing research, informed by subject specific expertise within Creative Arts disciplines and international quality published research. 

The post is designed to develop Research Leadership strategies and to shape, inform and enhance the delivery, monitoring, communication, data collection, evaluation and reporting of IAT core strands of business, working with Head of IAT, UoA Leads, and IAT leadership team.

The role emphasises advisory leadership, standard setting, analysis of data in research contexts, recommending methodologies, and assuring rigour and coherence across core stands of IAT portfolio, external communication and web‑facing content, to inform institutional biennial evaluation report 2027 and REF2029 delivery.

You will provide a dedicated support for Unit of Assessment 32 (Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory) and Unit of Assessment 34 (Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, Library and Information Management) in delivery of REF2029. You will exercise independent judgement and apply specialist methodological knowledge to design and critically appraise environment narratives, impact evidence strategies and audit trails.

You will also work to enhance access to and participation in IAT research activities whilst encouraging collaboration and open research practices, through the organisation of IAT leadership skills events across all career stages.

You will work to enhance research integrity through supporting IAT Early Career Researchers and Postgraduate Researchers.
