Donetsk National University (DonNU) is a leading scientific, educational and cultural centre that forms the intellectual and creative potential of Ukrainian youth. The university educates undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of natural sciences, humanities, economics and law, in more than 50 specialties. Throughout its 77-year history the university has trained more than 140,000 specialists in different fields of science, including more than 3,000 foreign citizens. The university comprises nine main faculties: Physics; Mathematics and Information Technology; Biology; Chemistry; Philology; History; Law; Foreign Languages; and Economics, two branches located in Mariupol and Kostyantynivka, a research computing centre, the Centre for Continuing Education, Nauka Sports and Recreation Centre, and other units. The university has been forced to relocate to Vinnytsia, due to the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
