Schools of agriculture, education, information systems, aquaculture and forestry, veterinary medicine, arts and science, engineering, management, law, criminal justice, fisheries, community health and allied sciences are spread across the North campus in Bacnotan, Middle campus in San Fernando and a South campus which crosses the city boundaries of Agoo, St Thomas and Rosario.

Founded in 2024, ACAMI is a collaborative centre spanning research, clinical trials, and workforce development at the intersection of AI and healthcare. It supports medical research institutes and industry partners, strengthening Victoria’s globally recognised life sciences ecosystem and ensuring it keeps pace with emerging AI advancements. Reporting to the Director and Chief Scientist of ACAMI, the Associate Professor (Research) will collaborate closely with the Director and Chief Scientist, Director of Development, the ACAMI team, and both internal and external stakeholders to advance ACAMI’s mission. This includes positioning the centre as a commercially sustainable entity that leverages AI, data and innovation to drive transformation and growth across AI-enabled medical and biomedical ecosystems in Victoria. The appointee will be expected to establish, attract and lead new research programs and teams within ACAMI, building capability by bringing together high performing researchers, postdoctoral fellows, academic collaborators, clinical partners and industry stakeholders around key AI-driven medical innovation themes. The role will provide senior research leadership likely in computational biology or AI in biomedicine while strengthening ACAMI’s research profile, expanding its external funding base, and enhancing its translational impact. Duties at this level: Attract, establish and integrate new research groups or research clusters into ACAMI, including identifying complementary research capabilities, engaging internal and external collaborators, developing major research plans and building sustainable programs supported by external funding and strategic partnerships. Secure significant external research funding from both industry and government sources by initiating large-scale competitive research funding proposals and building collaborative partnerships. Lead major research projects and emerging research groups within the Centre, guiding teams under ACAMI’s Director & Chief Scientist to deliver impactful AI solutions for real-world medical, biological and clinical challenges. Collaborate with ACAMI’s Director, Development and relevant University research, commercialisation and partnership teams to identify, protect and progress intellectual property, software, product and implementation opportunities arising from ACAMI research, including industry co-development, licensing, commercialisation or clinical adoption pathways. Skills and knowledge: Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area, such as AI/ML for mRNA, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computational Medicine, or a related field. A substantial and internationally recognised record of excellence in AI-enabled biomedical, biological, clinical, health or medical innovation, demonstrated by applying AI/ML, computational, data-intensive or related approaches to significant medical and health challenges. We are now looking for a Doctoral Researcher in Non-gray Thermal Radiation Modelling We are seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher in thermal radiation modelling to join the Fire Safety Engineering research group in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University. Your role and goals The successful candidate will conduct doctoral research at the intersection of fire safety and energy engineering. The research will focus on developing non-gray models for the radiative properties of multi-phase flows, with particular attention on the fuel particles in wildland fires. The research topics include: Extending full-spectrum non-gray models for gases to solid particles Experimental characterization of fuel particles using FTIR Mathematical model formulation and programming Model implementation in Fire Dynamics Simulator CFD code Experimental validation of simulations Machine learning for accelerated evaluation of radiative properties The doctoral degree will be awarded upon successful completion of advanced doctoral coursework (30 ECTS), preparation of an article-based doctoral dissertation, and a successful public defence of the thesis. During the duration of the doctoral studies, the researcher will be expected to publish in leading academic journals and high-level scientific conferences, engage in teaching-related duties, actively participate in the research group activities, assist in the preparation of new research proposals, and help to advise master’s students during the preparation of their final project. The primary workplace is Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus, and the role requires regular on-site presence. Your network and team The Doctoral Researcher will be a member of the Fire Safety Engineering team at the Department of Civil Engineering, Building Performance research area. Description The Future-Generation of Resilient and Infrastructure Design Technology Hub (Future-GRID TecH) in the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit one motivated post-doctoral associate (or research scientist for experienced candidates with 5 years of post-PhD experience). The candidate will work under the supervision of Future-GRID TecH director Dr. Mohamed Moustafa to carry out cutting-edge research in the broad area of future structures and resilient infrastructure systems with interest in applications of new and emerging technologies. Particular areas of interest include: structural 3D printing (metals, concrete, and composites) computational mechanics and structural topology optimization vision-based structural health monitoring autonomous and drone-based infrastructure inspection and vibration monitoring Successful candidates must hold a PhD degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Material Engineering. Other related field such as Computer Science, Nuclear Engineering, and Material Science are also welcomed. Required qualifications include: strong communication and presentation skills; a track record in writing and publishing peer-reviewed journal publications; and previous or relevant experience in mentoring or supervising undergraduate student research or junior graduate students.
