Business, Design and Communication Cluster The Business, Communication and Design (BCD) Cluster is one of five academic clusters at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). It offers seven degree programmes, including Accountancy, Aviation Management, Communication and Digital Media, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Integrated Studies in Business and Info-Comm, as well as two Food Business Management programmes offered in partnership with our overseas university partner, the Culinary Institute of America. This collection of business-related programmes provides a rich platform for the cross-fertilisation of ideas among faculty and students. The faculty comprises academically qualified staff with doctoral degrees, alongside seasoned industry practitioners who hold professional and postgraduate qualifications. This combination of academic rigour and practical experience supports a robust applied learning pedagogy. Through applied learning, students are exposed to real-life knowledge and practical examples, thereby enhancing the relevance and impact of their educational experience. The presence of both academics and industry practitioners also strengthens the Cluster’s industry relevance, as faculty members engage in applied research with direct applications and value to industry partners. The Cluster adopts a student and industry centric model of business education, with the ultimate goal of delivering industry-relevant training. Additionally, the Cluster is a proud member of the AACSB Business Education Alliance, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in business education. Faculty Openings in the Accountancy Programme The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accountancy was one of the first three programmes conferred by SIT. The programme is accredited by Singapore’s national accountancy body, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), as well as several leading global accountancy professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Uniquely, the programme is also recognised under the University Affiliation Programme by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. This three-year direct honours degree was developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders and accreditation bodies. Learners may choose to specialise in one of five accountancy domains: Applied Finance, Audit, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation. We currently have positions available at all levels from Assistant Professor to Full Professor in the area of Financial Accounting (Sustainability Reporting and Carbon Accounting). Successful candidates will join the BCD Cluster as part of a faculty team comprising accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and actively engaged in driving industry transformation through applied research. Faculty members may undertake funded, industry-relevant research and are expected to teach courses within the Accountancy Programme, with opportunities to contribute to other programmes within the BCD Cluster. They may also supervise industry-based master's and doctoral students on relevant topics. In addition, faculty are granted paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or participate in industry attachments to further enhance their practical expertise. Your future tasks: Original research projects in the area of bioinorganic chemistry and chemical biology will be centered on the biological effects of novel tumor-inhibiting compounds, including their impact on immune cells in the tumor microenvironment and therapy resistance mechanisms in human cell models. FACULTY OPENINGS AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The University: The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is Singapore’s first University of Applied Learning, offering industry-relevant degree programmes that prepare its graduates to be work- and future-ready professionals. Its mission is to maximise the potential of its learners and to innovate with industry, through an integrated applied learning and research approach, so as to contribute to the economy and society. Our faculty work closely with the industry on translational research and innovation as well as provide consultancy on solutions to industry challenges. This well-established nexus with industry endows our graduates with deep skills and work-ready training experience, attuning them to the needs and demands of the future economy. The Hospitality Business Programme (BHB): The Bachelor of Hospitality Business with Honours is a direct honours degree programme. It is the first and only hospitality business degree programme offered by an autonomous university in Singapore. The programme aims to nurture hospitality leaders who are passionate about making positive and tangible contributions to the industry. Qualifications: Applicants must be committed to excellence in discovery, teaching, and service to the hospitality and tourism industries. An applicant is required to have a Doctoral Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management or a related field (e.g., Data Analytics, Big Data, Entrepreneurship, Asset Management, AI), preferably with extensive management experience in the hospitality and tourism business, excellent teaching experience, and a strong publication record (e.g., industry or community reports), or has the potential to excel in these three areas. Principal Duties: The Hospitality Business Programme (BHB) is seeking a Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor in one or two of the following areas: Hospitality Tech / Digitalization / AI Application in Hospitality and Tourism / AI Marketing Data Analytics / Big Data Hospitality Investment and Development / Asset Management (Hospitality) Entrepreneurship Additionally, the successful candidate will conduct funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in their areas of expertise, and supervise capstone students in relevant topics. They are also granted paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or spend time attached to industry.
