Established in 2023, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences brings together diverse disciplines and is distinctive in combining internationally recognised research with strong civic and clinical partnerships. As a member of the University Executive Board, the PVC will provide visible academic leadership for the Faculty, working closely with the President & Vice‑Chancellor and fellow Faculty PVCs and reporting to the DVC and Provost to advance the University’s strategy and ambitions. The Pro Vice‑Chancellor will deliver the Faculty’s strategic priorities, ensuring excellence across research, education and external engagement. Accountable for overall Faculty performance, the role includes leadership of the Dean and Faculty Associate Pro Vice‑Chancellors, stewardship of significant financial resources, and alignment of academic planning with institutional priorities. The postholder will play a key role in strengthening the Faculty’s national and international reputation, deepening engagement with major partners including the NHS, research funders and regional stakeholders, and articulating the distinctive contribution of Health and Life Sciences within the wider University.
