De La Salle University-Dasmarinas

De La Salle University Dasmarinas is a private Roman Catholic co-educational higher education institution located in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines. 

Established in 1977, it is part of the wider De La Salle network in the Philippines. It became a Lasallian institution in the late 1980s and adopted its current name in 1997.

The university is an autonomous institution within the De La Salle system and is separate from De La Salle University in Manila, although both are part of the same Lasallian educational network. It is also connected to other institutions under De La Salle Philippines.

The campus spans approximately 27 hectares and is divided into east and west sectors. It features academic buildings, libraries, laboratories, museums, chapels, sports facilities, student residences and cultural spaces. 
 

The university enrols around 15,000 students across secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Academic programmes are organised into colleges covering liberal arts, science, engineering, business, education, tourism and hospitality, and health related disciplines, alongside graduate studies and research programmes.

Research activity is supported through dedicated centres and publications spanning science, education, humanities and technology. 

Student life is a central aspect of the institution, with active student organisations, publications, cultural groups and governance structures. The official student newspaper, Heraldo Filipino, plays a key role in campus communication and student expression.

The university’s athletics teams are known as the Patriots and compete in national collegiate leagues across sports including basketball, volleyball, track and field and martial arts.

De La Salle University Dasmarinas is also known for large scale cultural and community events that reflect its Lasallian identity and public engagement tradition. These include campus wide celebrations and symbolic activities that reinforce institutional heritage and student participation.
