The role The University of Surrey is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Student Recruitment Advisor on a fixed term contract (up to June 2027) to contribute towards the University meeting its recruitment and admissions targets by attending a series of recruitment activities under the overall direction of the Student Recruitment Manager. About you The post holder will be supporting the delivery of school and college events and will build strong relationships with high performing schools. The post holder will also support the delivery of student recruitment events, such as Open Days, Applicant Days and campus tours. In addition, they will assist the wider team in several key recruitment activities such as the creation and management of marketing materials, virtual events, conversion activity and clearing. You will also contribute towards the University meeting its recruitment and admissions targets.  Extensive travel/weekend/evening work will be required as directed by the Student Recruitment Manager.  What you’ll need to succeed: With some previous experience in an administrative role, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills and be a confident computer user (word and excel). The Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering at Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering invites applications for the position of PROFESSOR IN INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY The position can be filled at any level of the Aalto tenure track system (assistant, associate or full professor). The position is full-time and, depending on the positioning on the tenure track, either on fixed or permanent term. The position and our expectations The core theme of the professorship is Chemical Reaction Engineering. We seek a candidate who can translate reaction chemistry into reactor and process solutions for industrial production, grounded in strong understanding of kinetics and thermodynamics. Expected competencies include: Reaction engineering fundamentals: kinetics of catalytic and non-catalytic reactions, thermodynamics, and ability to combine molecular to catalyst and larger scale phenomena. Chemical reaction engineering, reactor design and scale-up for feasible, efficient, sustainable, and industrially relevant processes. Understanding unit processes and operations central to chemical industry production chains. Ability to lead and develop experimental work and modeling in the field of professorship. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching and developing educational activities in the field of chemical reaction engineering at bachelor, master and doctoral levels, including theoretical courses and laboratory practice. Carrying out high-quality research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, as well as disseminating research results to various interest groups including professionals, students, and academics. AWE Research Fellow in Materials Ageing

The role This is a prestigious 5-year fellowship (upto March 2031) funded by AWE Nuclear Security Technologies. The successful candidate will spend around half of their time working with the wider team in AWE's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Materials Ageing, Performance and Lifetime Prediction. This will include working collaboratively with our six visiting researchers, around 15 Surrey academics and researchers across Engineering and Chemistry, doctoral researchers, and technical staff across the University. You will also join the steering group for the CoE. The role also enables the successful applicant to spend up to half of their time developing their own materials ageing research with a healthy consumables and travel budget to support this. In addition to carrying out research their is an expectation of leadership in terms of supporting the CoE community in research excellence, impact and external academic and industrial engagement. This fellowship will suit a researcher whose education and experience is in materials physics, chemistry, or engineering, but whose can work in a multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working hands‑on with materials and abstracting analysing physical and chemical behaviour for solving materials problems and modelling. Prior experience may span experimental investigation, modelling, or data analysis, but a willingness to move between these modes of work is essential About you You will be: An enthusiastic researcher and communicator. Able to work effectively with the wider team at the University of Surrey, at AWE and beyond. Driven to define and deliver high quality ageing research and manage its impact. Description The Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit Research Scientist to work on advanced sustainable functionalized membranes for desalination and water treatment, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering. The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functionalized membrane materials to tailor sustainable antifouling hybrid ultrafiltration membranes and antibacterial nanofiltration or reverse osmosis membranes for desalination and water purification. The candidate will explore advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, AFM, Raman, TEM, DSC, XRD, FTIR, TGA, BET, etc.) to correlate fabrication-structure-property-performance of novel nanomaterials with sustainable membranes for desalination and water purification via separation processes. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students, and undergraduate students. The successful applicant will manage the project and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, establish deep technical knowledge, and develop transferable skills. He/she will actively be involved in developing novel concepts and writing research proposals. He/she will work on solving complex problems with efficiency and creativity. He/she will be involved in writing progress reports, authoring peer-reviewed publications, drafting patents, and presenting results at national and international conferences. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate his expertise in assessing antibacterial and antibiofouling properties of nanomaterials, membrane fabrications, sewage water treatment, life cycle assessment, and separation processes. He/she will be detail-oriented and well-organized and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Applicants must have a PhD in materials science and engineering, environmental chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, along with at least 6 years of relevant post-PhD research experience along with extensive research and publication in well-known journals and conference papers or similar research accomplishments. Analytical characterization skills and excellent experimental expertise relevant to assessing the antibacterial and antibiofouling properties of diversified sustainable membranes are required. Candidates with a history of peer-reviewed publications in a related research area and prior expertise in materials science, environmental chemistry, and water treatment will be preferred. This position will begin in September 2026 as a two-year contract, renewable depending on performance.
