Damghan University was established in 1988 by founding father, Dr. Mohammed Masoud Mansouri. It was previously known as Damghan University of Basic Sciences. The university is located in Damghan City, in Iran’s Semnan Province. The university aims to respond to the needs of society, educate creative citizens, and advance the frontiers of science, and now has 20 departments across eight schools. The university’s eight schools are: art, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering, humanities, mathematics and computer sciences, and physics. The university has six specialised laboratories to aid it in achieving excellence in the fields of basic sciences: XRD/XRF Lab, Scanning Probe Microscope Lab, Cellular and Molecular Biology Lab, TGA/CHNS Lab, Inductively Coupled Plasma Lab, and the Thin Section and Sample Preparation Facility. The city of Damghan is one of the Iranian Plateau’s oldest cities, boasting a plethora of history and culture. It has Iran’s oldest mosque, The Tarikhaneh Mosque, as well as the Hashshashin Forts in the northern part of the city.

About the advertised position: As a University Assistant Praedoc, you will contribute to Valentina Ausserladscheider's research area. The research focuses on institutional and organizational change in the economy, markets, and society. The focus is on processes in which political, economic and social actors react to new challenges and change existing institutional orders, market structures and social models. Concrete focal points can be the transformation of economic governance and crises, the role of political and economic elites, discursive negotiation processes, and social, financial, and organizational responses to climate change. Particular attention is paid to the interplay of political developments, economic dynamics and social values. The employee should qualify for a doctorate through his/her research. Your future tasks: You will be actively involved in research, teaching and administration, which means: We expect you to conclude your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. You are working on your dissertation and its completion. You will hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement. You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Future ship and system design (FSSD) program develop strategic and innovative design capabilities for maritime industry in Singapore and beyond. The work package WP2.4 in FSSD will conduct research in the areas of autonomous system dynamic modeling, simulation, testing, data and video analytics, machine learning algorithms and platform programing. The testing will be done both in lab, reservoir/sea and onboard ships. The primary responsibility of this role is to work on and deliver the project together with P2-4 team and be part of the research team in the FSSD program. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Carry out any additional work tasks assigned by the supervisor. To communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.  Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of system modeling, simulation testing for both hardware and software. Have a degree in engineering / applied physics, electrical, mechanical, marine, computer engineering or equivalent.  Key Competencies Good knowledge in system modeling, programming, simulations, data analytics. Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Show strong initiative and take ownership of work.
