Overview The University of Southampton, in partnership with Oxford International Education Group (OIEG), has successfully launched its first international campus in India, located in Gurgaon, Delhi. This initiative, developed in response to India's New Education Policy, represents a significant investment in transnational education. Job Purpose The role holder’s contribution will be central to high-quality teaching and learning experiences, developing and implementing internationally-recognized curricula, and supporting rigorous assessment across Economics modules at the University of Southampton Delhi. The role holder is expected to teach Economics modules at both undergraduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate (M.Sc.) levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant teaching experience and be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering modules aligned with international best practices, particularly the UK university curriculum framework, whilst maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor appropriate to the discipline. Candidates with significant teaching experience in teaching in any of the following areas - (a) Macroeconomics & dynamic Analysis (b) Microeconomics & Industrial organization, (c) Labor economics, (d) Econometrics & quantitative Methods and (e) Development & policy - are encouraged to apply. They may also be required to teach other modules within their broader area of specialization, if needed. The ideal candidate will have a track record of effective teaching and curriculum development. Description The Perception and Active Cognition laboratory in the Center for Brain & Health, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on the mechanisms underlying mental processing speed. The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project that links processing speed measures to previously acquired functional and structural MRI data. The project will also involve simultaneously acquired and co-registered fMRI and EEG measurements. Measures of cognitive “Speed of Processing” are important for studies of healthy aging and many disorders, including multiple sclerosis, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and schizophrenia, as well as diabetes and obesity. This project investigates the neural correlates of Speed of Processing and its subcomponents, translating into a more complete understanding of the mechanisms involved and their role in brain health. This project combines MRI and EEG/MEG studies with behavioral, genetic, and clinical measures to yield a more complete picture of how processing speed is related to health outcomes.  The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.  Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related field. Strong neuroimaging data processing skills relevant to the project are required. Applicant must have no more than five years post receipt of this degree are eligible for a postdoctoral appointment.
