Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a passionate and innovative Learning Designer (Inclusive Curriculum) for a fixed term post until 31st July 2029 to support us to transform learning champion inclusion and accessibility and ensure we are delivering excellence across our curricula and learning experiences. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with academics and professional services to design, develop, and enhance teaching, learning and assessment materials that are inclusive, equitable and accessible. You will help embed inclusive curriculum principles across LJMU, integrating digital and pedagogical practices that support success for all students. As a Learning Designer (Inclusive Curriculum), you will support programme teams to create teaching, learning and assessment materials that reflect diverse perspectives, promote equitable outcomes, and translate complex subject matter into accessible and engaging formats. Working with the Dean of the Teaching and Learning Academy and others you will help drive and evaluate the implementation of an institution-wide inclusive curriculum and assessment approach through consultation, resource development, and engagement with students and staff. The role will also involve horizon scanning across the sector and beyond for emerging trends in inclusive education, learning design, and educational technology, sharing insights to inform LJMU strategy. You will be experienced in designing and delivering inclusive, accessible, learner centred experiences in higher education, with a strong understanding of learning theories, inclusive curriculum design, equity focused pedagogy, and digital learning. You will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and can manage multiple projects independently and work effectively across teams. Your personal sphere of influence: The Department of Fundamental Theology is part of the Institute for Systematic Theology and Ethics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology. The shared approach of Fundamental Theology in Vienna is to relate theology to contemporary societal challenges as well as to other academic disciplines, thereby contributing to the resolution of current socio-political issues. To this end, the Department is actively involved in the multidisciplinary research center Religion and Transformation (RaT). Particular focus is given to questions of theology of history and the philosophy of history. As a university assistant (Praedoc), you will join the research team of the Department of Fundamental Theology and the research center Religion and Transformation (RaT). What is particularly important to us: An international outlook, an interdisciplinary approach, and strong connections with other research institutions, particularly the Institute of Philosophy and the research center RaT; an interest in the Department’s research priorities, and a basic understanding of Catholic theology as well as German Idealism (Hegel, Hölderlin, or Schelling). Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means: You will contribute to the research at the Department of Fundamental Theology. Participating in research projects, contributing to publications and scholarly articles, and giving presentations will be a central part of your responsibilities. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 12–18 months. You will work on your dissertation and its completion. The dissertation project should contribute to the Department’s key themes in the areas of the question of God, the philosophy of history, and eschatology. Description The Water Research Center (WRC) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Scientist to work on advanced membrane technologies for desalination. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Raed Hashaikeh. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on functional membrane development at both bench and pilot scales. The research focuses on the development of advanced functional materials and processes for sustainable water treatment and desalination. This research is conducted within the Water Research Center (WRC) at NYUAD and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams across mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, and physics. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and will contribute to projects spanning fundamental materials development to applied pilot-scale systems. Responsibilities of the position include conducting experimental and/or analytical research on membrane-based desalination technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, forward osmosis, nanofiltration, membrane distillation), developing novel functional materials, designing and executing lab and field studies, analyzing and interpreting data, contributing to publications and patents, and presenting research findings at meetings and conferences. The candidate will also collaborate with local and international research partners and may participate in limited teaching or mentoring activities. Candidate Qualification and Experience Requirements Candidates must hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in their field (not including the years obtaining the PhD). The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, including first-author papers, and demonstrated experience in membrane fabrication and characterization. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as XRD, TGA, DSC, DMA, BET, and porometry is highly desirable. Background in analytical or organic chemistry is an asset. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
