We seek an established researcher in quantum science and technologies with a strong and well-developed research track record, capable of leading and expanding SUAD’s research activities in this area. The successful candidate should demonstrate sufficient academic maturity to sustain an independent research program while contributing to the development of quantum-related teaching. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and academic excellence in teaching, research, and service within the Department and across Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD). As an accomplished scholar with a strong and internationally recognized research record in quantum technologies, the appointee is expected to develop an ambitious research program in theoretical physics and/or computer science, with a focus on quantum information and quantum technologies. Research activities may span the key pillars of quantum technologies—including quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum metrology, and quantum communication. The appointee will collaborate closely with Sorbonne University and leading research laboratories such as LKB and LIP6 and will receive the resources needed to build and consolidate a Quantum Research Group at SUAD, including access to dedicated funding and co funding mechanisms for doctoral fellowships, as well as opportunities to host visiting scholars. One of the roles of the Quantum Research Group will be to foster collaborations within the UAE and with prominent global partners, supporting the growth of national and regional quantum ecosystems and positioning SUAD as a hub for excellence in quantum science and technology. In addition to research leadership, the successful candidate will contribute to high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education, mentor students and junior faculty and play a central role in advancing the University’s academic mission. From a teaching point of view, the new Faculty will be mainly engaged in teaching intermediate to advanced courses in Physics, Quantum physics and Quantum Information in the programs offered at SUAD, including the Bachelor’s in Physics – Concentration in Quantum Technologies. It is worthwhile noting that the programs are designed by Sorbonne University in France, while teaching is delivered exclusively in English. The programs follow the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), and the diplomas are awarded by Sorbonne University. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and lead outreach activities in quantum science and technology, including public engagement and broader community programs, thereby strengthening societal understanding of quantum technologies and inspiring future generations.

Applicants should possess a medical degree registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, a relevant higher academic qualification (e.g. M.D., Ph.D.), a higher qualification in internal medicine, and a specialist qualification in gastroenterology recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or its equivalent. They should have proven capacity and potential, and an outstanding track record of active research, including high-impact research output, external competitive grants and research awards; demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in clinical services and training; and have engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. They should also be fluent in Cantonese, Putonghua and English, although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English. Preference will be given to those with a track record in research governance, university and hospital administration, and experience in both early- and late-phase clinical trials.  The appointee is expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; conduct research in gastroenterology; develop and provide regular clinical services and patient care at the University’s affiliate teaching hospitals; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department, Hospitals and Faculty. The Senior Lecturer (Creative Music Entrepreneurship) plays a key role in advancing teaching, research, and curriculum development in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, and professional practice. The appointee will help prepare students for diverse and evolving artistic careers by integrating artistic excellence with entrepreneurial thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with the wider cultural and creative industries. The appointee will report to the Head of the Academic Studies in Music and work closely with programme leaders and colleagues across the School. Applicants should have: (a)  A recognised degree or equivalent qualification (preferably a doctoral degree) in Music, Arts Management, Cultural Leadership, Creative Industries, or a related discipline; (b)  A strong professional background and substantial experience in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, creative industries, or related areas of professional practice; (c)  Normally, a minimum of six years’ experience in teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, or contextual studies at tertiary or conservatoire level; (d)  A strong professional network within the creative industries, cultural sector, or artistic entrepreneurship landscape, ideally with international reach; (e)  A proven record of teaching excellence across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes; experience with pre-college music education is an advantage; (f)  Experience in curriculum design, programme development, and the implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with contemporary developments in the music and creative sectors; (g) Solid experience in collaborative work across disciplines and cultures, with the ability to contribute to School-wide initiatives and cross-departmental projects; (h)  Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate independent studies, portfolio projects, research assignments, and creative or professional-practice outputs; (i)  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills; and (j)  An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) is an advantage. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. A gratuity payment up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of a part-time (35%)  ASSISTANT PROFESSOR / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR  The field of the position is medical genetics and the language of instruction is Swedish. The position may be filled as assistant professor, associate professor or professor depending on the candidates’ merits and career stage. The professorship in medical genetics is associated with a research director’s position at Folkhälsan Research Centre. Applicants must submit separate applications for the professorship and the research director’s position. An appointee to the position of assistant professor in the tenure track system shall hold a doctoral degree, have the ability to conduct independent scholarly work and have the teaching skills necessary for the position. In addition, applicants for assistant professorships shall demonstrate their ability and motivation for an academic career through publications and other means. When considering applicants’ qualifications, account shall be taken not only of their research work and teaching qualifications, but also of their success in obtaining external research funding, international research experience and other international experience. An appointee to a professorship shall hold a doctoral degree and have top-level scholarly qualifications, experience in the supervision of scientific research, as well as the ability to provide toplevel research-based teaching and to supervise theses and dissertations. In addition, the appointee shall present documentation of international cooperation in the field of research that he or she represents. Holders of professorships shall also have the skills necessary for serving as an academic leader. When considering the applicant’s qualifications, attention shall be given to scientific publications and other research results of scientific value, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce teaching material, other teaching merits and, if necessary, a demonstration of teaching skills as well as the applicant’s participation in doctoral education.
