Extensive experience initiating, leading and managing multiple concurrent teaching and learning projects. Demonstrated capacity to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and teaching in higher education. Demonstrated research outcomes reflecting a growing national profile in an area of education specialisation such as academic and professional literacies; learning sciences; assessment; technology enhanced learning; evaluation methodologies; learning analytics or work integrated learning and actively contribute to TLI’s research in these areas. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, equity and social justice within a tertiary education context. Desirable: Qualifications and significant experience in Higher Education, specifically Curriculum and Education Studies, or a closely related field. 
 Demonstrated experience in implementing project management methodologies and documentation processes in the education context. The post holder will participate in the experimental research activities of staff and students and will communicate effectively with different lab users. The job involves the preparation of test samples using conventional and rapid prototyping techniques, undertaking testing using advanced testing protocols, as well as installing arrangements specific for different testing configurations. The postholder will be required to support experimental projects at all academic levels, as circumstances dictate and as requested by their line manager. They will be responsible for maintaining the testing equipment in excellent working conditions and for the professional upkeep of the laboratory spaces. They will work closely with other technical staff to ensure the safe and efficient running of laboratories, and to showcase the experimental activities of Mechanical Engineering Sciences in relation to student applicants and external sponsors/clients. About you The post holder will maintain the MSSU Laboratory and set up and run laboratory tests. They will have good communication and IT skills. A qualification in Materials Engineering, or similar discipline, is desirable. Some relevant work experience in the above fields related to optical or electron would be an advantage. The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Physical Geography who has expertise in the field of Earth Observation. We seek someone who will complement and extend our current work in one or more of our research clusters (Hazards and Surface Change; Catchments and Rivers; Sea Level, Ice Sheets and Climate), but we particularly welcome applications from candidates who apply Earth observation approaches to outstanding problems in the fields of mountain environments, geohazards, geomorphology and catchments and river science.
