Civil Aviation University of China

Civil Aviation University of China is in the port city of Tianjin, roughly 120km south-east of Beijing. The university was founded in 1951, with the name Number 2 Civil Aviation School.
Although its name has changed several times – most recently in 2006 – the university’s aim has always remained the same: to develop the Chinese civil-aviation industry through the education of aviation professionals. 
Today there are 24,000 students enrolled at CAUC, and one third of the advanced engineering technicians and senior management personnel in China’s aviation industry were educated at CAUC. 
There are eight departments: aeronautical engineering; air-traffic management; information engineering and automation; economics and management; computer science and technology; science; law; and airport. In addition, the Sino-European Institute of Aviation Engineering was founded jointly with the French Aerospace University in 2007, and is the only aviation engineer college in China.
CAUC provides on-campus accommodation, with two students in each room. Accommodation includes airconditioning, heating and high-speed internet access. 
There are almost 100 clubs and societies, many of which are linked to aviation – for example, model-aircraft design and flight simulation. Departments also organise science contests and industry lectures for students. But there are also clubs for students looking for a brief break from aviation, including student music and dance clubs – both modern and traditional Chinese – and sports such as basketball, football and martial arts.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will play a key role in a large-scale neurodiversity initiative project for primary schools in Hong Kong, under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences.

The appointee will be responsible for the professional oversight and strategic implementation of the project, requiring specialised knowledge and independent professional judgement, with major tasks including:


	Devising and implementing a programme to foster a neurodiversity culture for primary school students
	Developing and implementing a school-wide support programme focused on developing a neurodiversity culture in schools
	Providing consultation and ongoing professional support to educators and parents to promote students’ well-being
	Organising and delivering training sessions and workshops for educators, parents, and students
	Consultation, coaching, and support for the multidisciplinary team
	Planning and implementing public education initiatives
	Preparing research reports and non-technical documents
	Performing any other duties as assigned


Requirements

The appointment will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.

The appointee should possess:


	A master's degree or higher in educational psychology or a related field eligible for clinical practice, along with at least three years of relevant work experience
	Strong analytical and organisational skills, with experience in managing research or community projects within psychology, social sciences, or related fields
	Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese
	Experience in consultation and coaching for a multi-disciplinary team is preferred
	Relevant work experience in a school setting, project work, or an additional postgraduate diploma in education is preferred.

We seek to appoint an outstanding and collegial scholar-practitioner who will contribute principally to the Master of Science in Psychology (MScP) programme. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and professional expertise lies at the intersection of community health psychology, forensic psychology, clinical psychology, and/or criminal justice.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a high-quality programme of research, publish in leading disciplinary or interdisciplinary outlets, and contribute to the wider research environment of the Psychology Programme and School of Social Sciences.

The appointee’s teaching responsibilities will be primarily within the MScP programme. These responsibilities may include developing course content and assessments; delivering lectures, seminars, and other learning activities; supervising and advising programme students; providing student consultation and pastoral support; and undertaking assessment and marking duties. The appointee may also be asked to contribute to other teaching needs within the Psychology Programme.

A significant component of the appointee’s service responsibilities will involve coordinating the MScP practicum. This will include supporting the development and administration of clinical and professional placements; cultivating relationships with placement providers and external partners; helping to ensure the quality and suitability of placement experiences and supervision; supporting students and supervisors during placements; and contributing to practicum governance, evaluation, and quality assurance. Experience managing or coordinating clinical or professional practica, internships, placements, or comparable forms of supervised professional training is therefore strongly desired.

Requirements


	A PhD, DPhil, or equivalent doctorate-level qualification in Psychology or a closely related field.
	Demonstrated research expertise in one or more areas of psychology relevant to the position.
	A strong record of research and scholarly publication commensurate with career stage, together with the potential to develop an internationally recognised programme of research.
	Experience and/or a strong interest in teaching postgraduate psychology students, with a demonstrable commitment to high-quality teaching and professional training.
	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills relevant to teaching, student supervision, pastoral care, and engagement with external partners.
	Willingness and ability to contribute to the overall objectives of the MScP programme, Psychology Programme, and School of Social Sciences, working collaboratively with academic, administrative, and professional colleagues.
	Experience managing or coordinating clinical or professional practica, internships, placements, or other forms of supervised professional training. This may include developing placement partnerships, matching and supporting students, liaising with onsite supervisors, monitoring placement quality and student progress, and contributing to practicum governance and quality assurance.
	Professional or clinical practice experience relevant to community health psychology, forensic psychology, clinical psychology, or criminal justice. This may include experience in expert assessment, offender rehabilitation, investigative interviewing, criminal justice policy, or other applied work in forensic, correctional, clinical, or related settings.
	Professional registration, licensure, board certification, or eligibility for registration as a psychologist. SRP-approved supervisor status or eligibility is also highly desirable.
	Experience supervising students, trainees, or early-career practitioners in clinical, professional, or other applied settings.
	Evidence of the capacity to attract research funding and develop collaborative or interdisciplinary research.
	Evidence of national or international professional standing, such as fellowship or active involvement in relevant professional bodies, invited leadership roles, editorial or reviewing activities, or recognised external impact.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells and large-area flexible modules, with a focus on scalable deposition, device fabrication, module integration, characterisation and stability. The role will involve close collaboration with leading Australian research institutions and industry partners, including Halocell Energy, Tindo Solar and Greatcell Solar Materials.

About you

Experience in perovskite photovoltaics, tandem solar cells, thin-film deposition, large-area device fabrication or photovoltaic characterisation will be highly regarded.
