Chinhoyi University of Technology is a technologically-focused university located in the Chinhoyi area of Zimbabwe.
Across its 11 schools and institutes, the university offers a broad range of degree programmes to its students. As its name suggests, the majority of the university’s schools are science-based, including: natural sciences and mathematics; engineering science and technology; wildlife, ecology and conservation; materials science, processing and engineering; agricultural sciences and technology; and health sciences and technology. In addition to its science programmes, Chinhoyi offers programmes across: art and design, entrepreneurship and business, hospitality and tourism, and lifelong learning.
The Chinhoyi University of Technology was established in 1999 as a degree programme under the University of Zimbabwe. The first degree programmes to be offered by the university were production engineering and hospitality and tourism, but it wasn’t until 2001 that the university was officially established as a university.
Students at the university can live on-campus.
There are a wealth of facilities on offer including soccer fields, a swimming pool, gym hall, and basketball courts. Chinhoyi students are welcome to borrow sporting equipment from the university and can take part in friendly sporting challenges throughout the year such as ColourFest.
