CEU Cardenal Herrera University (or Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, or CEU-CEH) is a private university in Valencia, Spain and has been linked with the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia since the early 1970s.
It has five faculties: the faculty of health sciences, faculty of veterinary science, faculty of law, business and political science, faculty of humanities and communication sciences and the ESET Technical School of Engineering. It has opened several research projects in collaboration with the Valencian government, including research examining topics such as the neural effects of consumption of drugs and alcohol, diseases such as leukemia and diabetes and drug design and the internet.
There are three campuses to CEU-CEH, Moncada (which is 12km from Alicante), Elche in Alicante and Castellón, which features a new medical school building in a town an hour away from Valencia - and not far Benicàssim, the town that hosts the huge annual festival of Rototom Sunsplash and Festival Internacional de Benicàssim FIB.
Over 10,000 students attend CEU-CEH, with many coming from the regions of Albacete, Ibiza, Majorca, Murcia and Valencia. The Rotary Diary is the university’s monthly newspaper and it also has a fully functioning 12 hour daily radio station Radio CEU and a TV channel.
UCH-CEU hosts regular sport competitions such as golf, football and volleyball tournaments as well as internal university games several times a year with all of the different schools competing. Other sports clubs available at the university include aerobics, gym, yoga, tennis, diving and tai chi among others.
