César Ritz Colleges Switzerland (CRCS) is a leading hospitality school that focuses on entrepreneurship, sustainability and leadership. It operates across two campuses: Le Bouveret and Brig. Le Bouveret is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, just minutes away from the French border. Meanwhile, Brig is a small town nestled in the Rhone Valley at the foot of the Alps. CRCS is one of four hospitality schools that operate under the Swiss Education Group. The other three are: the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland, the Swiss Hotel Management School and the Hotel Institute Montreux. The school is named in honour of César Ritz, a Swiss hotelier and founder of several hotels. Students who study the school’s undergraduate programme will gain two degrees: bachelor of international business in hotel and tourism management from César Ritz Colleges Switzerland, and a bachelor of arts in hospitality business management from Washington State University (Carson College of Business). This programme is offered in partnership with Washington State University. The school’s master programme is an intensive one-year course that expands career opportunities beyond hospitality into industries such as banking, consulting and retail. Students will graduate with a master of international business in entrepreneurship from César Ritz Colleges Switzerland and a master of arts in hospitality and tourism entrepreneurship from the University of Derby in the UK. Students can also gain practical experience through a professional industry internship.

Postdoctoral fellow Position in Omics and Soil Microbiome Research (2 years) The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellow position to join an interdisciplinary research project focused on metaproteomic analysis of soil microbial communities. This project aims to identify key genes and enzymes involved in mitigating salinity stress and improving soil health and crop productivity. These positions are part of a broader initiative to develop biofertilizers and sustainable agricultural strategies to combat soil degradation and salinization. Research will involve state-of-the-art metaproteomics, bioinformatics, and functional microbiome studies conducted in field trials, greenhouse experiments, and laboratory settings. This role will focus on the interactions between rhizosphere microbiota and plant roots, investigating how microbial enzymes enhance plant stress tolerance under salinity conditions. The successful candidate will: Conduct metaproteomic and genomic sequencing of microbial communities associated with plant roots. Identify microbial enzymes and functional pathways involved in nutrient acquisition and stress adaptation. Analyze plant-microbe interactions in response to salinity stress. Collaborate on biofertilizer development incorporating beneficial microbial enzymes. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Soil Science, Plant Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. Expertise in microbiome data analysis, metagenomics, or metaproteomics. Proficiency in bioinformatics tools for multi-omics data processing Strong publication record in relevant fields. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate across research groups. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in functional characterization of microbial enzymes. Familiarity with microbial ecology and soil biochemistry in stress adaptation. Background in field and greenhouse experimental design. The specific research areas that post-doctoral researchers will explore include, not limited to: Pyrolysis, gasification, hydrothermal carbonation, hydrothermal liquefaction, Fisher-Tropsh, etc. CO2 capture methods (Chemical and calcium looping, absorption, adsorption, membrane, cryogenic, molten salt, etc.) CO2 utilization & conversion to high-value chemicals (e.g., electro/photo chemical CO2 reduction; catalytic chemical conversion; biological; etc.) CO2 mineralization of industrial waste ACER is actively engaged in cutting-edge research and development initiatives aimed at advancing innovation in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), decarbonization, and carbon-negative pathways. Position Requirements The primary roles of the chosen candidates are to contribute to the expansion of research programs concerning Carbon Negative, Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration by demonstrating at least some of the following competencies. Experimental development, testing, and demonstration of novel CCUS technologies Process simulation, cost, life cycle, and social assessment of CCUS value chains Reactor design, optimization, and sizing using phenomenological and/or CFD methods DFT and Molecular modelling linked to CCUS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret and analyze simulation and/or experimental results. Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams that involve experimentalists and modelers Criteria of the candidates: PhD in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines, with focus on reactor and process design and development. Strong motivation and passion for research in the field of CCUS/decarbonization/Carbon management. Proven ability to perform multidisciplinary research and contribute to funded research programs. Proven ability to the planning, sourcing, and development of new initiatives and ongoing research activities. Proven ability to identify and fulfill the academic writing requirements for developing proposals, reports, and scientific publications. Demonstrated understanding of operational requirements for a successful research project and managing time and resources. Good English communication skills, both verbal and written, are important. About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions. Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at developing in-depth understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying all chemical transformations in order to propose original, and innovative alternatives promoting efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability. Job Description As a core component of UM6P, the CBS Department aspires to lead research and teaching at the forefront of innovation.
