The Central University of Punjab was founded in 2009 by an Act of Parliament and is located in the rural village of Ghudda in Bathinda. It started small but now has a large 500-acre eco-friendly campus recognised for energy efficiency.

The university has 31 departments within 11 schools, offering postgraduate and doctoral courses in sciences, technology, education, humanities, social sciences and law. Its academic system focuses on research, skill-building and entrepreneurship through a Choice Based Credit System.

Students come from 26 states and faculty from 19, many trained at top institutions in India and abroad. The university supports students from poorer backgrounds with an Earn-While-You-Learn programme.

The campus is plastic-free and committed to sustainability. It involves local communities with outreach projects and cultural events like food festivals and recycling activities.

We are seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurses active on the NMC register to join the Mental Health Nursing Team in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health at the University of Southampton. The team is experienced, friendly, and supportive and is enthusiastic and committed to developing the Mental Health Nurses of the future. Mental Health Nurses with experience working with children, young people and their families, as well as those with extensive knowledge of working with older people, would complement our current team. Ref.: 536264 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (22300) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Department of Ophthalmology (Ref.: 536264), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.  Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Medical Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Health Sciences, or related disciplines. He/ She should demonstrate a proven track record of impactful research, publications, external grant and leadership, a strong commitment to engaging students in inquiry-based learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as a strong track record in translational AI research, particularly in the following areas: (i) development of AI-enabled ophthalmic imaging devices with regulatory approval and clinical deployment; (ii) retinal image analysis, foundation models, and multimodal learning for ophthalmology; (iii) AI-driven screening systems for ocular and systemic diseases; (iv) machine learning approaches for multi-omics or clinical data integration in ophthalmology. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. The appointees are expected to lead and manage translational research projects in ophthalmic AI, leverage expertise in retinal image analysis, multimodal learning, and foundation models to develop clinically deployable screening and diagnostic systems, participate in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and perform administrative duties. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Key Responsibilities Applied Research and Innovation Leads Research Fellows (RFs) and Research Engineers/Assistants (RE/RAs) in the end-to-end development and productisation of solutions, including experimental design and prototype validation. Lead and manage projects focused on product innovation, including, Artificial Intelligence, renewable energy, circular economy, sustainable materials, and carbon reduction technologies. Explore emerging technologies, frameworks, and practices to advance product solutions in industries.
