About Central Asian University CAU

Basic information and contact details for Central Asian University CAU

Central Asian University (CAU) emerged from the renaming of AKFA University in June 2023, marking a new chapter in its development as a centre for higher education in Central Asia.

Located in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, CAU has grown into one of Uzbekistan’s most rapidly developing private institutions. It offers English-medium academic programmes across a range of fields including medicine, dentistry, engineering, business, hospitality management, and tourism, alongside postgraduate degrees, a foundation path, medical residencies, and an online campus.

Internationalism is an important part of the university’s activity. Since it opened, it has developed partnerships with several other higher education institutions across the globe. These partnerships facilitate various academic collaborations, such as the double-degree and cybersecurity programmes established with Obuda University (Hungary), as well as partnerships with HTMi Switzerland in hospitality and tourism training.

The university is embarking on an ambitious campus expansion into a 45-hectare academic and medical city, including a 400-bed hospital, speciality clinics, research labs, a central library, student housing, innovation zones, and green communal spaces.
