Your position: The Institute for Systematic Theology and the Study of Religion is a subunit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The position of a University Assistant (Postdoctoral Researcher) is intended to strengthen our teaching and research profile (Chair of Systematic Theology, H.B.). We are seeking Protestant theologians with a strong interest in research questions within Systematic Theology, particularly Dogmatics, Ethics, and Philosophy of Religion. Your future tasks: You will actively contribute to the research, teaching, and administration of the Institute, particularly within the Chair of Systematic Theology (H.B.). Your responsibilities include:   Participation in research projects, teaching activities, and administrative duties assigned to the organizational unit; Contribution to organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation processes; Supervision and advising of students; Independent research activities; Independent teaching and examination duties in accordance with the assigned workload. This is part of your personality: Completed doctoral degree (PhD) in Systematic Theology; Strong research interest and experience in the history of theology and philosophy of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; Outstanding expertise and experience in scholarly editing, particularly in digital editing (XML), archival research, academic annotation/commentary, and print editions; Willingness to contribute to the development of a research focus on religious aesthetics and psychology of religion within the Chair of Systematic Theology (H.B.) through conferences, research networks, and publications; Experience in and willingness to contribute to the acquisition of third-party funding; Independent and well-structured working style, strong organizational skills, and solid IT competence; Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken; Active work on a habilitation project (postdoctoral qualification) in the field of Systematic Theology. Job/Project description: The AGBS at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our academic institution as a postdoctoral research staff member with skill in Agronomy and Soil Microbiology. The successful candidate will contribute to our institution's commitment to excellence in research and innovation in Agronomy and Soil Microbiology, mainly by conducting innovative research that allows us: (i) to characterize soil microbiome from African soils and (ii) participate in field surveys to generate samples for DNA extraction, amplicon, and shotgun sequencing tools. (iii) isolate and characterise microorganisms of agronomic interest, using phenotypic markers and molecular markers, and propose recommendations, (IV) conduct greenhouse assays to validate their benefits and develop recommendations.  Area of specialization: soil microbiome analysis, general microbiology, Molecular Biology, Agronomy and, Sequence dat analysis and R coding skills Main responsibilities: The selected candidate will be expected to: Conduct a field survey from farmer fields to obtain samples, and prepare a map of sampled areas within the project mandate, considering the landscape, field plots, and on-farm approaches.  Prepare soil for physico-chemical property measurements  Isolate beneficial microbial and conduct greenhouse and field assays to validate their benefits Analyses shotgun and amplicon data sequences from the project and reports. Prepare high draft quality manuscripts for submission Mentor master students and PhDs Education, qualifications, and experience Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Agronomy, Soil Microbiology, or Soil Sciences with hands-on experience in Bioinformatics tools  Strong knowledge in implementing statistics to analyse data from field studies, amplicon, shotgun, and whole sequences. Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary research in the above research area. High-quality publications in relevant scientific journals demonstrate a strong record of research accomplishments. Experience in supervising undergraduate/graduate students. Strong communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and the broader scientific community. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biological science, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or related disciplines. They should be self-driven, highly motivated, creative with excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Expertise and knowledge in bioinformatics, deep learning and/or biomedical image and clinical data analysis (e.g. Linux, R programming) is essential. The appointees will need to perform data analysis of single cell RNA-sequencing, transcriptomics data, Nanopore long read sequencing analysis and/or multimodality deep learning model development in different sarcomas. Publications in related fields will be a strong advantage. Opportunities for publication and independent development will be available. Additional basic laboratory skills in handling clinical samples (e.g. FFPE tissue, blood), preparation of samples for scRNA-seq and DNA/RNA extractions will be desirable.
