The Capital University of Science and Technology was established in 1998 as the Islamabad Campus of Mohammed Ali Jinnah University. In 2015 it was converted to the university it is known as today. It is located in Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad, which features an Olympic Village and a national park. There are five faculties at the university offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses: engineering, computing, health and life sciences, pharmacy, and management and social sciences. Across these faculties, there are 13 bachelor of science undergraduate degrees such as accounting and finance, electrical engineering, mathematics, microbiology, English, and psychology. There’s also a bachelor of business administration and an undergraduate pharmacy course. For prospective postgraduate students, the university offers an MBA and a master of philosophy in mathematics. In addition, there are seven master of science programmes: management science, electrical engineering, engineering management, mechanical engineering, computer science, civil engineering, and biosciences. For those who have completed an undergraduate degree and a master’s programme, there are also seven doctoral programmes on offer at Capital University. For most programmes there is an admissions test based on key themes of the programme that prospective students must complete and pass. There are 14 student clubs and organisations at the university including sports, art and literacy, Capital media, CivEng society, and the society of electrical engineers for the advancement of knowledge.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine senior leadership in cancer clinical research with a public-facing role for Cancer Research UK, promoting the work of the charity through your role at the University of Southampton.
