Bursa Uludağ University was originally established in 1975 as Bursa University. In 1982 it became Bursa Uludağ University. The university is located in Bursa, a city in northwestern Turkey. The university is organised into 13 academic faculties: medicine, economics and administrative sciences, engineering, veterinary medicine, agriculture, education, theology, arts and sciences, law, fine arts, business administration, architecture, and sports sciences. Each faculty offers degree programmes at bachelor, masters and doctoral level. There are also two schools within the university, the School of Health and the School of Foreign Languages, as well as 15 vocational schools including the vocational school of technical sciences, the vocational school of social sciences, and the Iznik Vocational School. The university is home to four science institutes: Institute of Natural Sciences, Institute of Health Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Educational Sciences. Every year students are encouraged to participate in the university’s academic exchange programme, which offers students the opportunity to study abroad for a semester or an entire academic year. The university has developed partnerships with higher education institutions across the globe, in countries such as France, Russia and Thailand.

It is a highly specialized workplace on the issue of vascular diseases. The main activities are vascular-surgical programs. In cooperation with interventional radiologists and angiologists, the clinic provides comprehensive care for vascular patients, including 24-hour permanent service for acute vascular events within the region and supraregionally. As an accredited workplace, it provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in vascular surgery, is involved in scientific research activities and participates in the solution of international randomized multicenter studies. II. The surgical clinic is a part of the Complex Cardiovascular Center and the Cerebrovascular Center established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of surgery, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education. The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process. We are bridging the gap between commercial drone hardware and the demanding requirements of law enforcement and security operations. Our mission is to enhance the safety and effectiveness of personnel through intelligent, resilient, and autonomous aerial systems. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to lead the applied research and development of advanced control augmentation techniques for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) drones. This role focuses on pushing the limits of COTS hardware by integrating sophisticated software and edge computing solutions. The Role: As our Research Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of augmentation software, from theoretical design and simulation to real-world proof-of-concept demonstrations. You will work on a portfolio of critical enhancements, including advanced navigation algorithms, swarm intelligence, cyber security hardening, and payload-specific control systems. Key Responsibilities: Control Augmentation Development: Design, implement, and tune advanced control augmentation techniques (e.g., model predictive control, adaptive control) to enhance the stability and agility of COTS drones under dynamic conditions. Swarm Intelligence: Develop and test decentralized swarm algorithms for coordinated area search, target tracking, and collaborative task allocation without reliance on constant ground control intervention. Cyber Security Enhancement: Research and implement mitigation strategies against common attack vectors on COTS platforms, including GPS spoofing, communication jamming, and protocol vulnerabilities. Develop hardened communication layers between the drone, edge device, and ground station. Payload-Specific Control: Integrate and tune control systems for mission-specific payloads (e.g., gimbaled cameras, spotlights, delivery mechanisms) to ensure stable operation and precise control during flight. Edge Computing Implementation: Architect and deploy machine learning and computer vision models directly onto onboard edge devices (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson) for real-time object detection, tracking, and autonomous decision-making. Proof-of-Concept Demonstration: Lead the integration of software onto physical drone platforms, conduct rigorous flight testing, and execute live demonstrations to validate performance against operational requirements. Documentation & Dissemination: Document research findings, software architectures, and test results. Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications & Expertise: Education: Honor’s degree (Master’s and Ph.D. preferred) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Control Theory: Strong theoretical and practical background in control systems, including PID, LQR, MPC, or adaptive control. Robotics Software: Extensive experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS 2). Programming: High proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time robotic applications. Simulation: Experience with realistic simulation environments such as Gazebo, AirSim, or Unreal Engine. Edge Computing: Proven experience deploying algorithms on resource-constrained edge devices for real-time inference and control. Description The Future-Generation of Resilient and Infrastructure Design Technology Hub (Future-GRID TecH) in the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit one motivated post-doctoral associate (or research scientist for experienced candidates with 5 years of post-PhD experience). The candidate will work under the supervision of Future-GRID TecH director Dr. Mohamed Moustafa to carry out cutting-edge research in the broad area of future structures and resilient infrastructure systems with interest in applications of new and emerging technologies. Particular areas of interest include: structural 3D printing (metals, concrete, and composites) computational mechanics and structural topology optimization vision-based structural health monitoring autonomous and drone-based infrastructure inspection and vibration monitoring Successful candidates must hold a PhD degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Material Engineering. Other related field such as Computer Science, Nuclear Engineering, and Material Science are also welcomed. Required qualifications include: strong communication and presentation skills; a track record in writing and publishing peer-reviewed journal publications; and previous or relevant experience in mentoring or supervising undergraduate student research or junior graduate students.
