We are passionate structural biologists (focused on NMR spectroscopy of nucleic acids) at CEITEC, looking for  Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Non-Coding Genome Research group About this position:  We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team! The research project will focus on developing fluorine NMR methodologies to unravel the nucleic acid conformational landscapes. G-quadruplexes (G4) and i-motifs (iM) are paradigmatic non-canonical nucleic acid structures that are abundant in the human genome and overrepresented in evolutionarily conserved and functionally important regions, including the telomeres, centromeres, and promoter regions of (onco)genes. They have been involved in pathobiological processes and the development of genetic instability-driven conditions, rendering them a fascinating subject within structural biology. This project will integrate ¹⁹F NMR and complementary biophysical assays on G-quadruplex- and i-Motif-forming DNA/RNA sequences to investigate their structural equilibrium, dynamics, and ligand binding interactome in vitro and in the intracellular space. The outcome will provide fundamental insights into the dynamic structural interconversion of non-canonical nucleic acid systems, enabling the fine-tuning of gene expression and associated cellular dysfunctions. We are seeking a creative and independent individual with documented research experience relevant to this position. The ideal researcher (EU Researcher Profile: R2) profile: Must-have: A PhD degree or equivalent in structural biology, Chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field. Expertise in biomolecular NMR and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals Experience in the sample preparation, acquisition, processing, and resonance assignment of multidimensional solution NMR spectra for nucleic acid/ protein systems and their complexes with small ligand-like molecules. Familiarity with NMR data acquisition and analysis for characterising dynamics is advantageous. Strong scientific writing and communication skills (publications, reports, presentations) in English. Motivated to establish an independent research direction within the group’s broad interests. Nice-to-have:  Nucleic acid labelling strategies (chemical, enzymatic synthesis, click chemistry basics) Complementary expertise in other biophysical assays to monitor biomolecular interactions/binding affinities (i.e. ITC, MST, BLI, etc.) Good communication and interpersonal skills. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Project Title: Harnessing Cerium: Smart Rare Earth Catalysts for Solar-Driven Abatement of Toluene in Industrial Effluents (Project AURORA) This project addresses a critical national challenge by valorizing Vietnam’s vast, underutilized rare-earth (cerium) deposits into a powerful solution for industrial air pollution. Our goal is to develop a novel solar-driven photothermocatalytic process to efficiently destroy harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), like toluene, at their source in industrial effluents. By integrating advanced materials synthesis with a predictive Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform, we will accelerate the discovery of efficient and sustainable solutions for environmental remediation. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to play a foundational role in this pioneering 18-month project at the Center for Materials Innovation and Technology (CMIT) at VinUniversity. A Unique Opportunity to Build and Lead This is not a typical postdoctoral position in a long-established laboratory. As the first postdoctoral researcher in a newly forming research group, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to help build our lab from the ground up. You will be instrumental in designing, commissioning, and shaping the core experimental facilities and research direction. Key Roles and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a driving force behind the project’s success and will be expected to: Lead Lab Development: Take the lead in the design, assembly, and commissioning of a state-of-the-art, automated photothermocatalytic reactor system. Advanced Catalyst Synthesis: Design and synthesize a library of high-performance, nanostructured ceria-based catalysts derived from rare-earth precursors. Material Characterization: Rigorously characterize the physicochemical properties of the synthesized materials using various advanced techniques. Experimental Campaign & Data Generation: Conduct systematic, high-fidelity experiments to evaluate catalyst performance under industrially relevant conditions. Data Analysis and Dissemination: Analyze experimental data and take a leading role in preparing high-impact manuscripts, patent applications, and conference presentations. Mentorship: Assist in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students involved in the project. Candidate Profile: A Ph.D. in Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline is required. A strong track record of high-quality publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrated hands-on experience in materials synthesis and characterization. Prior experience with gas-phase systems (e.g., gas-phase catalytic reactions, adsorption, or reactor design) is strongly encouraged and will be highly valued. Description Location Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated Research engineer to work under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Chafii on Channel Modeling for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). Responsibilities: Lead the design, setup, and execution of ISAC channel measurement campaigns across multiple environments, hardware platforms, and frequency bands Develop, validate, and document ISAC channel modeling methodologies tailored to the lab’s hardware/software testbed. Integrate SDRs (e.g., USRPs, RFSoC) and RF front-ends (FR2, FR3, V-band) into end-to-end ISAC demonstrators. Implement and optimize advanced signal processing algorithms for joint communication and sensing. Analyze experimental datasets, extract statistical models, and compare findings across environments, hardware, and frequency bands. Collaborate with PhD students, postdocs, and faculty on joint projects, ensuring experimental results support theoretical work. Co-author scientific publications in IEEE journals and conferences, and contribute to open datasets/methodologies for the research community. Requirements: Education: Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field. SDR Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with SDRs (USRP, RFSoC, or equivalent). FPGA programming experience is a plus. Programming Skills: Strong experience with MATLAB and/or Python; experience with C++ for high-performance signal processing is a plus. Experimentation: Proven experience developing wireless prototypes, demonstrators, or proof-of-concept systems. Signal Processing: Solid knowledge of channel estimation, channel sounding, and multipath modeling (channel impulse response, frequency response, MIMO models, AoA, AoD, delay, Doppler, etc). RF Systems: Familiarity with RF front-ends, antennas, calibration, synchronization, and over-the-air testing. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment, working with researchers and engineers at different seniority levels. Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills for preparing technical reports, presentations, and publications.
