Bingol University

Bingol University was established in 2007 along with 17 other new universities. 
In 2007, the university consisted of seven faculties, schools and institutes including arts and sciences, economics and administrative sciences, agriculture, health, the vocational school, the vocational school of health sciences, the institute of social sciences and the istitute of science. 
Over the years the univeristy has added more and more faculties to its offering and now has nine faculties, five institutes, six vocational schools, 21 research centres and a laboratory. 
The university campus is located in the centre of Bingol and has many facilities including a library, a sports complex, an indoor sports hall and a congress centre. 
There is also a hotel on campus complete with a thermal spa. The hotel is used as a practise area for students studying physiotherapy and tourism management. 
Students can partake in international exchange programmes through the Erasmus Exchange programme.

The appointee will work on a research project that evaluates the design and implementation efficacy and achievements of a set of Smart Teens projects designed to empower youth to address digital inequality. He/She will take key administrative and coordination responsibilities, conduct research in a collaborative manner as outlined below:


	Coordinate the project and liaise with different stakeholders;
	Contact the Smart Teens project leaders and make necessary organizational and administrative arrangements for data collection in the appropriate project settings;
	Contact the technical team and coordinate essential organizational and administrative arrangements for development of assessment items;
	Manage and support the organization of dissemination events;
	Coordinate and support training for data collection, cleaning, preparation, analysis and evaluation report writing;
	Carry out other assigned tasks (as appropriate).

The research group of Professor Jiahao Yu at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for full-time research positions at the Junior Research Scientist level in AI and Cybersecurity. The preferred start date is 1 February 2027, subject to completion of the appointment process.

The group studies the security of artificial intelligence (AI) and the application of AI to cybersecurity. We welcome applicants working in one or more of the following areas: AI security; trustworthy machine learning and interpretability; or applying AI to software security, vulnerability detection, and other cybersecurity domains.

Successful candidates will develop and evaluate methods in these research areas, implement experiments, analyze results, and contribute to publications. Junior Research Scientists will carry out research objectives defined with the principal investigator. 

Qualifications

Junior Research Scientist applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; a master's degree with less than 5 years of experience is preferred.

Applicants should have research experience in at least one of the areas above, strong programming and experimental skills, and clear written and oral communication. Experience with machine learning frameworks, security analysis tools, or both is desirable. Publications and well-documented research software are welcome evidence of research ability.

The Position

The Lead Optical Specialist is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the development, delivery and ongoing advancement of complex optical systems supporting astronomy, space and advanced scientific instrumentation programs. Reporting to the Technical Director and operating with a high degree of autonomy, the position provides strategic and leadership in optics across the full lifecycle of projects, from concept development and system design through to integration, testing, commissioning and operational support.

As the organisation's principal optical engineering authority, the role leads optical engineering teams, manages specialised laboratories and facilities, and drives the development of optical and metrology capabilities to support current and future programs. The position works closely with multidisciplinary teams, research partners, industry collaborators and national and international stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions for telescope instrumentation, spaceflight hardware and other leading-edge scientific applications.

The Person

Demonstrated experience in optical engineering, preferably involving the delivery of complex optical systems in astronomy, space, research, or other advanced technology environments. Experience combining technical expertise with leadership of multidisciplinary teams to support successful project outcomes would be highly regarded.

We particularly welcome scholars working in social and cultural history, especially those whose research engages with slavery and dependency studies, women’s and gender studies, and/or indigenous studies. Description

The Public Health Research Center (PHRC) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to hire two Post-Doctoral Associates in Epidemiology/ public health to work with the UAE Healthy Future Study, a cohort of more than 15,000 Emirati nationals investigating the lifestyle, behavioral, and clinical determinants of chronic and complex diseases. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to a large-scale epidemiological analysis, with a focus on chronic disease risk factors and health outcomes. PHRC offers a multidisciplinary research environment with access to clinical, lifestyle and behavioral data.

Applicants must hold a PhD in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, population health, or in other related field, with no more than five years post receipt of this degree, with a proven record of scientific publications and demonstrable experience in analyzing large-scale epidemiological or population-based datasets. Experience with longitudinal data analysis, statistical modeling in Stata, SPSS, R, Python, or related statistical software is highly desirable.
