About the Role and Qualifications Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President Academic, the Dean of LA&PS serves as the Faculty’s principal academic and administrative officer and is a member of the University’s senior leadership team. The Dean will champion the Faculty’s vision and values, advancing excellence in research, teaching and community engagement while supporting an outstanding student experience at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. The Dean will foster interdisciplinary and community-engaged scholarship, support faculty in securing external funding and elevate the Faculty’s national and international profile. While no one candidate is expected to possess the following credentials and/or experiences in equal measure, they will guide the committee’s review of candidates who express interest in the role: An earned doctorate in a relevant discipline and a distinguished record of achievement in research, teaching and service consistent with appointment at the rank of Full Professor, and a commitment to academic excellence; A proven record of academic leadership, ideally within a large and complex environment, with experience overseeing diverse academic units and programs; Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and implementation while fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity and transparency; Financial acumen and experience with budgeting, resource allocation and institutional planning; Evidence of success in building and sustaining productive relationships with internal and external partners, including community, government and industry; A track record of promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigenization and accessibility and of engaging diverse communities with respect and integrity; Experience recruiting, developing and retaining faculty, staff and students and in creating inclusive, supportive learning and working environments; Aptitude for fundraising, external relations and representing the Faculty and University on local, national and international stages; and A leadership style grounded in collegiality, listening and shared purpose—demonstrating agility, responsiveness and an investment in people and ideas. Job Description FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ACADEMY OF WELLNESS AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Sports Industry Management (23241166) The Academy of Wellness and Human Development invites applications for the positions of Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor in Sports Industry Management. Successful candidates will be expected to engage in cutting-edge academic research, contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervise student projects and dissertations, and participate in departmental activities as required. Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: sports business analytics, sports tourism, esports, sports media, sports marketing, sports law, or event management. Requirements: A relevant doctoral degree; Strong track record in research and tertiary teaching experience; Substantial publication record in high-impact international refereed journals; and Solid experience in course instruction, research student supervision, programme administration and development, and academic administration.  Those applying for the Associate Professor position or higher should demonstrate extensive experience and success in securing research grants. Job Description SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS Part-time Lecturer (25260005) The School of Creative Arts (SCA), comprised of three well-established academic units: the Academy of Film, the Academy of Music, and the Academy of Visual Arts. Established on July 1, 2022, SCA is dedicated to nurturing future-ready talents for Hong Kong and beyond, while making a significant impact on society through innovative research and transdisciplinary studies. The School is currently seeking a Part-time Lecturer to teach the course(s) at undergraduate level in the following areas:  Entertainment / Media / Creative industries; and Creative entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree or above in related disciplines, with 3 years of experience in entertainment industries with aspects of content development, budgeting, licensing, administration, marketing, or audience engagement, preferably with teaching experience at the university level. A good command of English and Chinese, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility are required. Duties may also include supervision of students, marking of examination papers, and any other work as assigned by the Programme Director and the Dean of School. The initial appointment will be offered on a part-time basis commencing August 2025. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and course availability.
