Duties and Responsibilities To conduct research on the observational and numerical modeling of ionospheric irregularities. The project focuses on investigating the Equatorial Spread F phenomena near the Greater Bay Area using integrated regional and global models together with observational data. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Prof. Binzheng Zhang and Prof. Zhonghua Yao, as well as other DEPS researchers, to carry out an integrated analysis of numerical simulations and data-model comparisons. Requirements a Ph.D. degree in ionospheric physics, space physics, or a related field; demonstrated a strong background in one or more areas of plasma physics, ionospheric physics, thermosphere-ionosphere coupling, or computational space plasma dynamics, with specific research experience in the global modeling of the ionosphere-thermosphere system and regional modeling of ionospheric irregularities are strongly preferred experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and AI-driven forecasting models for space weather applications would be advantageous possess a good command of written and spoken English Inquiries For further information, please contact Prof. Binzheng ZHANG at binzh@hku.hk. About the position This is a critical leadership role within La Trobe’s Integrity Office, focused on strengthening a safe, respectful and accountable university environment. Reporting to the Director, Integrity Office, the Manager, Safer Community and Student Conduct leads the University’s response to complex and sensitive matters involving student conduct, safer community, child safety and behavioural risk. You’ll oversee end-to-end case management and investigations—ensuring matters are handled with care, consistency and procedural fairness—while also providing trusted advice to senior leaders on risk, governance and institutional response. The CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre (C-PIC) team at the University of Southampton has a shared vision: to take silicon photonics technologies from research labs to everyday life by enabling ubiquitous silicon photonics solutions. CORNERSTONE provides a silicon photonics fabrication service to researchers and innovators from across the globe, focused around our unique cleanrooms capabilities in Southampton, UK (www.cornerstone.sotonfab.co.uk). We are seeking an experienced PDK Engineer with a technical background in graphene and/or silicon photonics for our role in the EU-funded project, PIXEurope. You will be passionate about supporting cutting-edge research and development in a growing team of enthusiastic colleagues. You will be self-motivated, a skilled communicator, flexible, able to work both independently and as part of a large consortium, and to manage your time efficiently. You have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including both UK and EU PIXEurope consortium partners. You will be responsible for developing the Process Design Kit (PDK) and characterisation of the graphene on Silicon Photonics chips for the PIXEurope project. You will attend European project meetings and represent the project at relevant conferences and events. You will be part of a a PDK team to develop the CORNERSONE platform. You will work with the project partners and internal process fabrication team to develop the technology. Description NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering. The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students. The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions. He/she will participate in developing novel concepts and writing proposals. He/she will work towards solving complex problems with efficiency and creativity. He/she will be involved in writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents and presenting results at conferences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of materials science and engineering, membrane fabrication techniques, membrane characterization tools and separation processes. He/she will be detail-oriented, well-organized and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Applicants must hold a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, and have at least six years of experience in the field, along with extensive research and publication in well-known journals and conference papers or similar research accomplishments. Excellent experimental and analytical skills relevant to the project (in particular membrane fabrication and characterization) are required. Candidates with demonstrated history of peer reviewed publications in a related area, along with prior expertise in materials science and analytical chemistry will be preferred.
