Bharathidasan University was Founded in 1982 in Tiruchirappalli in the Indian state of Tamil Nada. It takes its name from the Tamil poet Bharathidasaran.
Its activities are divided between three campuses. The main Palkalaipur campus occupies 432 acres and most of the universities four faculties – arts, languages, management, and science, engineering and technology – along with eight of the nine hostels.
The 40 acre Khajaimalai site accommodates the departments of economics, education technology, social work, women’s studies, computer science, lifelong learning and the Techno Park. The Institute of Management reckons to be the first in India located with an industrial giant, on Bharat Heavy Electrical’s campus
